Agents offer Michael Owen to clubs with help of 34-page brochure

Michael Owen's management company has been shopping their client to various clubs with the help of a 34-page brochure that talks up the Newcastle striker.

In the document, Wasserman Media Group says: "Were it not for an unhappy spell at Real Madrid and two injury-scarred years at Newcastle, he would be spoken about in the same breath as Torres and Ronaldo and valued in the priceless figures that only match-winning goalscorers ever justify."

Owen is out of contract on 30 June and available as a free agent. The Wasserman brochure, reported in the Sunday Mirror, reveals the player would prefer to stay in the Premier League. It says that, in choosing his next move, Owen "is about to make the biggest decision of his football career", and explains that the 29-year-old is "good looking" and "charismatic".

Sam Rush, the group's chief operating officer, said: "As one of the world's leading sports agencies, Wasserman regularly utilise comprehensive documentation and audiovisual material to illustrate the benefits of our clients."

Desperate much?

 How the mighty have fallen.

I would have taken him in on a free if he wasn't a cripple.

Is that the real cover?

surely not.

Still, I think his career scoring record is enough for a top team to take him up. I don't think we genuinely know what level Owen is at right now, that joke of a club made everyone look like monkeys. Is Nicky Butt a Championship player? Of course not

I'd have thought Everton would be the obvious one given he supported them as a kid, you'd think the likes of them, Villa, Spurs etc might be interested. By the time they realise no fecker actually wants to play for them, maybe City too

That's a fair point he could still have more in him at 29, it just seems he doesnt. If the stars align for him as they have not for the past 5 years he could still be a very good striker at a lot of clubs, if I was Villa or Spurs he would be my no.1 target. I know benitez isnt a fan but he could be quite useful at Liverpool as well

Shit he is 29 already...

I hope Fergie gets one of these and chucks it straight in his recycling box with all the other junk mail.

Both Owen and Butt have been terrible for years, they're not being dragged down by Newcastle but our part of it's problem. Too many players who were once good and played at big clubs (Smith, Duff, Geremi other examples) being payed lots of money for their reputations despite producing shit performances week after week.

If any team buys him, the club would have to hire an extra physio just for Owen, following him everywhere. Training, matches...etc.

Which is why I'm sure Moyes is uneasy. He's already got Saha on his books.

The only way I see Owen going anywhere sensible is if he's on a pay-as-you-play sort of deal, where most of his wages will be in the form of appearance bonuses.

That said, it would be really nice if Saha had a sickbay buddy.

Agreed.

It would be:

Pages 1-2: Preface
Pages 3-4: Contents
Pages 5-6: Introduction
Pages 7-8: Playing career
Pages 9-32: Injury history
Pages 33-34: Conclusion, including words by Starfish Gerrard

No reasonable offer refused. No money down, no credit checks!

Ask about our layaway plan.

If we sign him up then our physio team will be known as the Owen & Owen. ;)

Reminds me of the "Book of fielding in John O'shea" by SAF years back.

shameful that a once great player is reduced to whoring himself out like this.
