As per usual, a shite analysis for us.
Honestly, I just tuned-in to hear how Linekar would work-in cringe Amazon references. Wasn’t disappointed.
When did MOTD stop the policy of showing the shock result first?
There was no big game today (like Manchester derby first last week) so I'd have thought Chelsea-Bournemouth would've been first. Liverpool game was boring and on TV anyway so don't understand the running order.

Lerma isn't a player who's ever caught my eye but it looked a very good performance from him today from those highlights.

Spent about 2 minutes talking about the United game. Not a mention or replay of the Greenwood goal.

He seemed to completely lose his trail of thought at one pointWatching it here and it's ridiculous the coverage they've chosen to show. From their highlights you'd swear City dominated in every aspect with us sucker punching them a couple of times. From 10 minutes before the first goal and for 20 minutes after it, we completely dominated them but they've shown none of that, or the chances created, bar a brief mention of the yellow card/penalty farce.
First time I've watched MOTD this year. Pretty poor,isn't it ?
I like the documentaries Shearer does but his analysis is such rambling nonsense and Jenas,he clearly has a grudge against us.

That's no joke
It used to be essential viewing even if you used to fast forward/put the kettle on during the analysis but now highlights are available from various sources, often during games never mind that night, there's really nothing you get from MOTD you couldn't get elsewhere.
I agree Jenas looks a bargain basement caretaker to the grave for MOTD, as doing the show on the cheap will only hasten its plunge into complete irrelevancy, but I'm not sure what else they can do in this political climate.
Watched it just now on iPlayer. It was OK but lacking in that little bit of spice that the Sky pundits provide. The post match on Sky was far more entertaining due to Richards being a bitter tosser

I only watched last nights MOTD day so I cant really judge the program throughout the course of the season just on that but I wouldn't class the analysis last night as in-depth.
And if it is, that's fairly worrying.
Ideally,I think MOTD would be wise to actually cut down on the concept of bringing former players in for analysis,because the majority of them are either incoherent in their rambling or just come out with the same tired cliches we've listened and read for decades.
I think they may be better placed in bringing in good intelligent journalists who offer a (hopefully) a more interesting perspective.
One of the reasons I feel this is a avenue for MOTD to go down is purely on the basis of their coverage of last seasons COPA Libertadores final involving River and eventual winners Flamengo. It was refreshing listening to Jonathan Wilson's in depth knowledge on both teams.

That City legend, as soon as they became successful, they dumped him.
They had that in MOTD2 with Mark Chapman which was my favourite footy show easily, I loved it...
Problem is, no-one else seemed to like it!
I like Mark Chapman as well. He's a no brainer to take over from Linekar for me - can't understand how they've decided Jenas is a better choice?

MOTD is dreadful these days, absolutely awful, Jermaine Jenas is a typically poor choice of presenter too.
The Belgian version of Sky Sports who showed the game had a 15 minute post-analyses of the game and didn't mention/show the penalty on Fred either. They also tried their best not to give us any credit. The pundits on that show have a hard-on for Messi, City and Liverpool, that's about it. Shambles.
Yeah, I almost fell asleep listening to Shearer and Jenas resorting to the old tropes of attitude/pace/power/bla-bla-bollox. Far more influential on the results yesterday were the various tactical points that decided the shape and performances on show. For example, they focused in on Giroud and how much space he got against Everton. Not a single relevant point was made and the conclusion was that 'it wasn't until the 82nd minute before he received a proper challenge which summed it all up'. There was no attempt to answer the question why he got so much space, why the defenders were backing off, and why there was so much space between the lines in Everton's 4-4-2. All they did was describe what Giroud, Gilmour, Barkley and Mount did, but had no idea how to explain why they dominated the game.
Anyone else hate the fake crowd noise as much as I do?
