If you were in charge of a huge movie studio and had access to every piece of intellectual property ever written, what one film would you commission to be made above all others? Extra points for being as detailed as possible, including casting, director etc.

Personally I’d have an R-rated Darth Vader movie made about the period after ROTS, and before ANH. Directed by Denis Villeneueve. I haven’t figured out who would play heavily scarred, mask off Vader, but I’m kicking around a few ideas. This is a movie that the world needs to see.

What other concepts can you proffer?

A 6 hour Watchmen movie directed by David Fincher.

Realistically it’d be a 6 episode mini series but since it’s one movie, I’ll happily sit through that movie and see Fincher go through the source material of that and put it on screen

Humanity gets an irrefutable proof that intelligent alien life exist.

Also, humanity learns that god really is real.

Flicks about the aftermath of those revelations. Directed by...dunno, who's hot right now? Brothers Farelly?

I think I would like more superhero movies. Can't get enough of them.

Maybe a Heath Ledger movie. Could be a movie about his time playing the joker, and the damaging effects it had on his sanity.

I would just ban all remakes where they just change the characters genders and all superhero films .

Both have already been done.

Alien and Evan Almighty.
Meant more on a macro level. (Whole of) Humanity learns about those, and films deal with the reactions/fears/hopes that those revelations brought. Can focus on smaller cast of characters.

A Wes Anderson movie with a made up superhero as the protagonist.

A Wes Anderson movie set in WWI.

Obviously both with Bill Murray.

I always had an idea for a who-dunnit type film whereby (and I’d have no logical idea how this would work...) the more you watched the film, the more of the story you saw.

So the theatrical cut would be a full, complete movie with its conclusions as to what happened, but the more repeat showings you gave it, the more “middle pieces” were released, until after X number of viewing you would see the full picture, which would give an entirely different context to the ending than the one you have for the theatrical cut.

Sounds shit.

My idea is transformers and the Marvel Universe vs Alien and Predator. Sounds fecking awful.

So new things happening in the middle would give a completely different view to the same end? I have no idea if that's possible but sounds like they'd do it with Black Mirror.

A movie with a walking talking dog scientist with the name of Dolph Lundgren, with just a big nose for a head so he can smell crime, go back to the lab for penetration, out again to solve crime, back to the lab - more penetration. Until it just sort of..ends.
The twist is, we show the full penetration.

Would love to see a dark, violent Star Wars and a re-do of all of the corny superhero movies done with a desperate dark and violent tone.

Too many WWII movies. And we have enough about Vietnam War too. I’d like to see a well produced war movie based on something like the War of 1812 or the Spanish-American war.

I’d also like to see an Apacalyptico type of movie that takes place in the ancient Hawaiian islands before they united as one kingdom with the rise of King Kamehameha.

Movies my arse, they're films. Or filums if you're Irish.

But entering into the spirit of things, Trafalgar. Or the life of Nelson, ending in Trafalgar.
Sorry. I used movie in the title and film in the post. Been in the States for 15 years, it happens.

How about a scenario where far, far into the future our technology becomes so advanced we prepare to wage war against hell to save all the damned souls and liberate them? Maybe the reason for this could be that hell is all but unavoidable because sin is punished so harshly. I think it would be pretty cool to have set pieces in hell with lasers and shit taking on demons/monsters. I guess it would be kind of like Doom, but inverse.

I know they are all the rage now and people are getting fed up of them, but would love to see Marvel tackle something horror based, similar to how winter Soldier was a spy movie.

I know Blade was a thing prior to the Mcu but let's see them go nuts with Ghost Rider or similar.

Or existing property, how about the Void books by Peter F Hamilton, proper space opera if budget is no expense.
