MSC - Reserves vs Rochdale

It depends on what SAF sees that the side need. Henderson's a different type of player and already proven at Premiership level. Most of the lads we are discussing are 17 and far from ready for regular first team football.

proven at sunderland but like bringing through any kid, there is always a risk. He's not Manchester United proven. If you're good enough your old enough. The midfielders we have coming through are a variation. It's not one type. We've an experienced squad. We lose some in VDS and Neville but we should recognise our squad is good, we can afford to to be brave.

Morrison is such a natural talent, I love watching him play.

Yeah, will be a real shame if he doesn't fulfil his potential. But encouraging that he was given a game tonight, hopefully everything else can now be put behind him. It's up to himself though.

Will be interesting to see our team in the FAC.

Morrison, King and Brady are ready for a first team run-out...if only to:

1. Assess their development
2. Give them some experience

Pogba and W. Keane will most likely be ready for Carling Cup action next season.

Ferguson will know best.

I'd say Pogba is more ready than Brady, but there you go. I guess logically he's less likely to see any action at this stage.

We played against really poor team tonight... Don't jump to fast conclusions just yet. Hope to see these boys in action against some premier league reserves team soon.

Agreed, would be good to see. Keane has started to look good again recently after a slow start to the season.

It will be interesting to see what the line-up will be for the Youth Cup game with Morrison back in the fold. A lot of competition in the midfield.

Anyone else notice poor auld paddy get Fabio confused with Rafael on about 10 consecutive occasions?

Other highlights include Fabio's goal, Morrison's sublime body swerve and King's curious Norwegomancunian accent.

Oh and props also to our teenage Brazilian for turning out on a filthy night amidst sleet, rain and howling gales with no gloves, no snood and a short-leaved shirt. Tough as old boots, those Da Silvas.

I always impressed when I've seen Ravel play. Has that bit of class about him.

It'll be really sad if he doesn't fulfill his potential. He has a self destruct streak sadly. :(

Regarding King, Apparently Nottingham Forest wanted him on Loan, but Fergie refused their offer, so maybe their is a role for King in some of the matches(Highly unlikely though)

I've heard no more in the pipeline for today.. they asked for Joshua King at Man Utd but Fergie wants to keep him for moment

I know those highlights show about 1% of the game, but did anyone tell Rochdale they were in a match? Our lads seemed to just casually walk past them at times.

yeah though Brady's progressing well. He was lucky not to be sent off though. I didn't rate him at first but he's got great feet, can get out of tight space, scores goals, is pretty quick and his goal was best like. We see players being selfless alot, it was good to see someone being single minded for once and taking their chance

That's a fair point but rochdale were not that poor a team. The first half there tried to play football but the second half we went up a gear. We play well most weeks. It was not a one off. We've shown great character at times, coming back from games we were out of. Yesterdays conditions made it a tougher game but we played some nice incisive stuff.

Highlights don't really do them justice. They didn't create alot but they restricted the number of chances we created an passed the ball well enough but quality told in the end.

They gave a good account of themselves in the first half but the differing levels of fitness eventually told. Rochdale looked out on their feet for the last 30 minutes. It was all very easy in the end.

I reckon his long term future will be in the middle rather than the left. He looked more like the player we saw in the milk cup last night. He sometimes trys too hard and gets frustrated, bit like Rooney in that respect especially his early days with Everton where he had more cards than goals.

I will admit Im a bit of fanboi though :)

Don't see a United future for Brady - competent footballer, but lacks something, can't put my finger on it. Same type of feeling i've always had re. Norwood. Ticks a lot of boxes, but something missing.

I do reckon Brady could have a very decent career - and will likely be a International player. A player in the style Trap would love, real battler.

Well despite their talent and the drubbings this set of lads seem to meet out, you can't see them all making it.If we're really lucky and a half dozen do come through and are 1st team regulars over the next few years then we'll have done well but it's very hard and we haven't had that many since 92

Interesting Mitch, Id rate him as by far the better prospect. Too early to write him off considering hes got a squad number this season. He's also a year younger aswell. Big 12 months ahead for him though.

It's a pity Trap won't pick him for Ireland. Needs to steer clear of injuries and his scholes like tackles if only to save himself from further injury

Well I'll not b surprised if Trap never picks him. I don't think Trap will be manager by the time Brady becomes a realistic pick for selection. I just think he is the style of player that Trap does like - good on the ball, but one that will fight and positionally very responsible.

This is what I've said about Brady for a while too, I think there are a lot of Irish lads who are keen to see him do well though...

It didn't hurt the evans brothers though - playing for Northern Ireland. The problem is Trap won't pick Gibson because he wants him to play more games so unless Brady goes on loan and plays, he will be ignored which is a pity as the current Ireland squad needs quality.

--------

I don't think Brady will make it but I wouldn't say he's lacking in anything if he gets games under his belt. I think the competition is too strong but you never know. I'm sure no one would have predicted we'd sell Eikrem and Stewart the way we did

King, Keane and Norwood have been named on the B list for the champions League so maybe King will be staying here for the rest of the season

If he could only improve range of passing, he would be very similar player to Cleverley. But I also think that he won't make it. Hope I'm making a mistake. Maybe they sold Stewart to Hull to make a room for him, maybe for Ravel (ho is a year younger than Brady), who knows...

I don't think anyone saw Stewart having a long term career with United and he was out of contract in the summer anyway.

The space is normally made for the academy graduates by using the loan system or selling those who they predict will not make it to the first team.

I'll stick my neck out here.....the only way Brady won't make it is if he suffers from too many injuries.

I would love it if he makes it. He's a hardcore united fan

I seem to remember you saying that you'll eat your hat if Gibson didn't make it...:D
