My PS3 just died...

My PS3 was working fine this morning when we me and my buddy had been playing the FIFA demo, went to turn it on tonight and it now refuses to read any DVD's or games what so ever.

feck knows where the receipt is and i doubt i am still in warranty.

I am fecked.

The drive is the largest cause of failures. It's this issue that Watchdog should have reported on, not the yellow light. Phone Sony up and ask them, it can't do you any harm. I know that they do admit that they did have a drive issue with it at some point. The PS3 hasn't died, its optical drive has.

Happened to mine last year, same thing, but I was just within warrenty so got a replacement. God knows what I'll do if it happens again. Fecking consoles these days, my Mega Drive never broke.

Where did you buy it? Where are you from that doesn't have any sort of computer based warranty certificates?
