Yeah, they will be huge losses to the England team, their contributions have been invaluable.

feck off citeh. Barry, Milner, Johnson and SWP will be rotting on the bench. Great for our England team.

Well not really, Capello is still crazy enough to select boring shitty awful players that don't even play for their clubs anymore just because....yeah because. Except Johnson, he's solid.

I was being ironic actually. Obviously didn't work. These players are currently in the England squad but will find it difficult to be picked if they are not playing for their club. I'm with you, they fecking deserve it, other than Johnson.

Long lost son of Ancelotti apparently:

On topic, great signing for City. Selection will be fun for Mancini. Somebody will be really upset as the season progresses.

So how will they line up for the big games now?

------------------Hart-----------------------
Richards----Kompany---Lescott/K.Toure--Clichy
------------Y.Toure---Barry-------------------
Nasri------------Aguero-----------------Silva
---------------Dzeko/Tevez------------------

Good team. They'll challenge but I don't think they have as much as us, especially in defence.

"Imagine the worst situation - we lose Fabregas and Nasri," stated Wenger. "You cannot convince people you are ambitious after that. You cannot pretend you are a big club.

All over then...?

I thought I would have a read at bluemoon to see what some of their posters are saying about the Nasri transfer.

I found this:-
Bluemoon-MCFC: Manchester City, Man City • View topic - He chose us over United..........

Oh dear. They make Rawk look intelligent. Have they not learnt anything. MONEY buys!!!

Also doesn't Nasri like to play as a winger? Does someone want to tell them we have just bought Young for that position. Maybe they need to try watching football for a while.

I personally think it's the exact opposite and he'll be joining City.

Just softening up the Arsenal fans and keeping his conscience clear by stating publicly that money isn't his primary motivation.

I'd have to agree with that.

If City offer him wages that we can't match (which is likely) then he'll be playing in blue next season.

Hate to say we told you so.

to be fair, he prefers to play in the middle, but as you said, he also prefers to play for +200k per week. surely everybody knows it was about the money.

The others all thought that too...

Flamini was hyped based on one great season - there was always a chance he wouldn't exactly be a world beater in Italy.

Hleb was never that great. For all his neat play, he always lacked the overall quality and it was no surprise it didn't work out for him with Barca.

Adebayor is nutcase, but is still a terrific player, and will probably be a starter for a team at around Arsenal's level this season.

Nasri on the other hand is class and has all the tools to make it at City. You yourself has praised him over and over again. Claiming he's better than Nani etc. He'll be a success for them, unfortunately.

It's sad that Arse have let this happen. This situation is another step further to a competition which is determined by owners chucking stupid money around.

That is RAWK levels on that forum. Half a billion on a new team, buy their way into the top 4 and win an FA Cup - suddenly they think they're hot shit. Do they not remember we took them apart a few weeks ago.....with our kids?

He was when he played for us - watch him go down hill fast and have Milner play instead of him.

Heh, that's what you and everyone bar City are hoping for, but it isn't really based on anything but hope and bitterness.

There's not a lot you can do about it. damage limitation to get some money and and extra few pins in the voodoo doll.

Good summary. Also worth mentioning that bar Hleb all the other players got chances at their new clubs and ruined it themselves by under performing or being a cnut.

Nasri will get his chance as well.

Whatever the problems we have in paying wages to match Manchelsea right now we'd be fecked without the extra cash from the new stadium.

Highbury looked nice, but it was actually a pretty crap, old stadium.

Art deco is always effortlessly cool though.

They overpay on fees and wages, there is no competing with that. Arsenal had to sell Nasri, it was obvious that he had already made a deal with City. It was either sell him now or lose him for free. Having said that, they should have sorted both the Fabregas and the Nasri situations sooner. They are leaving it very late to replace them... assuming that Arsene actually feels he needs new players.

Hopefully we knock some sense into them once again.

I can't stand how arrogant they are, they don't acknowledge just how small they really are.

These lads failing would be the sweetest thing in the world, nobody deserves to flop more than City. Hopefully Mancini will pave the way for this.

It was great for playing some proper fancy tiki taka.

Well that's the pitch, not the stadium. And it was only 1 meter narrower than OT & the Emirates, despite everyone thinking it was notoriously narrow (it was 5 meters shorter though apparently, draw from that what you will)

This! But I actually feel sad for Wenger. He knows it was coming but it was probably impossible to do anything about it.

Yeah but it's a burden. Was there no way to extend Highbury?
They looked at extending Highbury but couldn't do it without CPing a lot of houses, which was never going to happen. It's one of those stadiums that was shoehorned into a tight knit of terraces - see Anfield.

I loved Highbury and I had a better view only a few yards off the pitch from which you could practically reach out and touch Henry as he flew down the left wing. The new gaff is soulless by comparison and seems to have allowed for about 20,000 new muppets to turn up.
