Neil Warnock returns to the PL

True, I thought about it as I typed that sentence. He is the one name in there who shouldn't be, most probably. Either way, it wasn't an entirely serious post.

Think it might be fairly accurate come Christmas time!

Let's hope our fixture against Cardiff is after October, which probably Warnock already left the building :D

I have an irrational hatred for him. Everything about him screams cnut IMO. Won't be sad to see him gone.

He has done wonders for Cardiff and should get credit for this achievement.

That's harsh, the guy has only ever managed two clubs and hasn't been in the business for ten years.

1991-2006 Charlton
2006-2008 West Ham
And then spent the past ten years being linked to every job vacancy, somehow.

He's absolutely fantastic at getting teams promoted to the PL but those teams should really sack him the instant the season is over. He's not good enough.

I work with a lad who was a referee at a decent standard before refereeing went to a full time profession.

He come across Neil Warnock a few times and said he was a proper Cnut towards refs.

Which is funny as he’s a trained referee I believe?

He's got a great record of getting clubs promoted but hasn't really done anything of note in the Premier League.

Very underrated manager. He’s passionate about football and has so many promotions to his name. I hope he gets a season in the premier league.

Probably the best man manager around to be honest, to get that Cardiff team up is amazing.

Grujic has been pretty pants, Etheridge has had a very good season but I feel he has a few blunders in him, will be interesting to see how he steps up. A few you missed are Manga and Patterson, the latter of which managed 10 goals from midfield, Ralls too has had a very good season.

Agree they need a few signings, Tan mentioned aspiring to be like Burnley so I'm not expecting big money to be spent.

Yes Calum Paterson has been a revelation, signed as an RB, Warnock quickly saw he couldn't actually defend and moved him to playing just off the striker and 10 goals follow.

Not sure he'll be quite as effective in the premier league in that role.

I think I remember some former player saying Warnock told them to go out and injure an opponent? Horrible cnut.

Instead, after a tackle from a Leeds player, I heard him shout out to one of his team: ‘Next time break his legs,’ referring to Gary Kelly.

I asked him to leave the technical area, and he was suspended from the touchline for three games, two of which would be his first in the Barclays Premier League.

A thoroughly unpleasant individual.

Warnock, too.

Very good Championship manager, shite Premier League manager. It's that simple. Didn't he state in some interview in the last year or so that he'd have no interest managing at Prem level again? I'm sure he'll be hiding from that quote now...

Harsh as this sounds Cardiff should look at replacing him to give them the best chance of survival, he's proved on 3 separate occasions now that the PL is too much for him.

On another note, since when have the non title winning promoted teams started getting trophy's to lift?

Horrible personality, for me. The Cardiff fans in my area are pure thugs as well, so it's a match made in hell. Torn between whether I'm happy for their promotion as Welshman, or gutted to know that set of mugs are happy drinking Stella in a beer-garden.

I'd take Stoke back instead of him.
agreed, finally we get rid of West Brom and Stoke and they are replaced by the most underwhelming team ever led by the most punchable manager ever, I hope they go straight down. Shame Fulham bottled their last game..

Hope to see Brucey's Villa back in the league now

He moulds his team in his image - bunch of bullys and with enough money to get a higher quality of bully he can get teams promoted. He'll fail at the top level no doubt but at least he stopped Fulhum going up automatically.

Warnock doesn't give a damn, and is always pleasant away from the heat of the game. He is a major twat when engaged in battle but it makes for interesting viewing! He'll get relegated, if not sacked before most likely.

I wondered that too. Why did Cardiff get a trophy?

Said in the Championship thread that I love how he winds people up and how angry people get over him. I don't know why people are so easy to fly off the handle, he's harmless. It amuses me to the point that I want to him to do well to see the reaction. I'm enjoying this thread.

Harry Redknapp is similar, and the reaction to him is even more baffling to me.

He’s such a nice guy on the radio and in sit-down interviews. I love his insight and no-nonsense views.

His on-field persona and post-match interviews rile people up though  I can’t wait to see him back in the Prem.. would love to see Ian Holloway return too.

think it was introduced a couple of years ago because the winners get one and the play off winners get a trophy but second got nothing. it's basically a "congratulations on getting to the PL" trophy

I like him, never understood the vitriol towards him. Will be good to have him in the PL.

Huge job on his hands now, mind. Can't see them staying up.

Agree, they're both have 'colourful' personalities. They tell it as they see it, and a lot of time, they make a lot of sense. Obviously, there's a darker side with Warnock.

I think it'e because the play off winners get a trophy so there was always a bit of a bizarre situation where 1st, and the play off winners would get a trophy but the 2nd team wouldn't. It makes sense in a way.
