New Trinity Statue

Giggs, Cantona and state your case/bias for anyone of....Keane, Scholes, Neville, Rooney, Ronaldo, Schmeichel and maybe Ferdinand, I'd say. Pity Beckham left/fell out with SAF.

What about Robson?

I think it would be a huge disrespect towards the many signings Sir Alex made who bled as much as Gary did + they were far more important to the team then Gaz was. Id go for Scholes and Giggs (ie homegrown players who were also WC) and 1 signing.

It would be disrespectful to Neville to not include him alongside Giggs and Scholes.

I understand there were players who were more important to the team than Neville was but that also applies to Giggs and Scholes. Cantona and Ronaldo for example are guys who in their respective periods were more key than any of the class of 92. However when you factor in longevity then it becomes a non-contest. Even if you were to combine Cantona and Ronaldo's United careers into one super footballer then that composite player would have played less and won less than Neville did for United.

If your argument is that Neville was not world class then I simply disagree. He's still probably the best right back in PL history and at his peak was top 5 in the world easily.

Not really. Scholes and Giggs were absolute world class players same as Law, Charlton and Best. Gaz was decent but far from world class.

Also there's no way Gaz was better then the likes of Zanetti, Cafu, Thuram, Ramos and Zambrotta

Would be worth making a statue of Keane just to see Keane's utter disdain for the very notion.

Surprised at the lack of mentions for Rooney, he is our all time top goalscorer after all. I guess the contract disputes and his decline at the end of his career doesn't help things.
This, it should be a given really considering his records

Fergie, cantona, Rooney and micky phelan in tight shorts

Scholes, Giggs and Roy Keane. Keane was the leader and captain so kinda has to be there.
But he is a prick, so no for me. Beckham has always been a Utd fan so Scholes, Giggs and Beckham is the obvious and best choice

Giggs, Scholes and King Eric

It’s nice thinking about the good times.

John O'Shea chip versus Arsenal.
Rooney diving so Arsenal didn't go 50 games unbeaten
Wenger standing with his arms out wide at OT.

Don't need a "trinity" statue. Everyone at the club during SAF's reign were secondary to him.

Giggs, Scholes, Beckham, Butt and the Neville's could have a statue, or maybe a one of the number 7's (Cantona, Beckham and Ronaldo) but the SAF statue covers him era perfectly.
You can't have a No 7's statue without Owen, Valencia, Memphis and Sanchez

I would have more than 3 if it were my decision. I could fill 10 spaces but if i had to choose I would go for Giggs ( one of the gretest players of our or any generation) Keane (could argue one of our greatest captains ever, left his blood on the pitch for us) ronaldo (not much more to be said other than one of our greatest ever) rooney (top goalscorer, its a given) and finally cantona (as someone else said, was the kick starter to our greatest period of sustained success ever) As I said, could pick another handfull at least. Honourable mentions would be scholes and neville who could also easily be up there. My statue obviously not a trinity more a homage to the last 20 years

Like I said, we disagree. Neville was world class for me.

I think that very few agree with you on that including Gaz himself. I've met the guy multiple times and I've yet to hear him call himself world class or to put himself at the same bracket of Giggs and Scholes in terms of talent. He even think that AWB is better then him as a player. The latter is something I disagree with him tbh. In my opinion Gaz falls in the Maguire's bracket. He was an decent player whose attitude makes him an excellent one but he's not exactly WC.

Regarding being among the top 5 right backs in the world there's no way he was better then Zanetti, Cafu, Zambrotta, Ramos and Thuram.

Rooney? ROONEY?!? In an era when we will struggle to attract new support you want a 20 foot statue of that uggo looming over everyone? Kids will be scarred for ife!

Zanetti, Cafu and Thuram were better. Zambrotta was worse. I don't understand why you named Ramos, different generation. You would have swapped our right back when we were winning the treble for a 13 year old Spanish kid?

The former three were way better then Gaz, there's no comparision whatsoever. Zambrotta wasn't at par to Zanetti and co but he was better then Gaz was. Gaz retired in 2011. Ramos was already 25 at the time. One can say their careers overlapped for a number of years or so. But that's a matter of opinion.

The list would have been longer if the likes of Lahm and Irwin who were natural RBs didn't made a career as LBs instead.

Probably Cantona, Giggs and Scholes. Tbh I feel Beckham is kind of iconic too.

I think having more statues would be overdoing it be honest.

3 Fergie's in different era's.

The most important man in football.

Giggs Ronaldo Cantona

Or just 3 more Fergie statues

I think you've basically nailed this thread

Rooney is our record goalscorer Ronaldo won World player of the year when at Utd and Giggs has the record for appearences,

Champions League trophy, EPL trophy and FA Cup.
Sir Mat's crowning glory was to be the first manager of an English team to lift the European cup. Sir Alex was being the first manager of an English team to complete the treble. Either that or a giant 20.
