I'm in but won't people just copy picks from the mains?

Do a T20 one, and you're allowed to pick players from 1990 onwards and then you also have to judge how good they'd be in that format as well.

It's not the same as the mains one. As it has players who made their debut after 1 Jan 1990, instead of having played a certain number of games in that period. Plus, I have kept only 8 teams simply because there is not as much interest down here as there is in the mains, and the test cricket draft went tits up after first round.

I want this to be completed quickly and have lesser number of games. Also, since there are only 8 teams, picks would be fairly obvious.

I like your T20 idea, but it will be based on assumptions rather than facts, so not that keen on that one.

Even so it's still quite similar. That one had 13 teams with 11 players each so that's 143 players in total, this one will have only 88 players. Even with the slightly different rules, there'll still be a big enough overlap that nearly all the players will be from the mains draft. If we're playing with so few players as well, can't we just make the period smaller? 2000 onwards, or like an all time Ashes one/all time India-Pakistan/or any two teams? This seems far too easy.

Most drafts are based on assumptions anyway, so I don't think a T20 one would be too different. Wicket takers will always be wicket takers, and good batsman will manage to adapt etc or manage to cope by playing proper cricket shots.

Your call though mate, I'll play anyway. I liked the test one, shame it didn't see an end.

I'm game for making the period smaller. But I'd rather prefer it being 1990-2000 than 2000 onwards. The quality of players dropped massively and I am not big a fan of the last decade generation barring a few.

Having just two teams would be way too thin. We can reduce three players per country to 2.

Who are they? Never heard of them, I'm just Skills

Yeah I'm down for a 1990-2000 draft with only 2 players from a nationality, it'd be more of a mindfeck.

Yep, that one seems good enough. Need 5 more entries.

And you gave it away by making the Test Cricket draft reference. :D

That would be make it really really easy, man. I really like the 90-2000 timeline, players we all grew up watching and has just enough talent to make it tough and interesting for 8 teams.

And obviously, we won't be picking according to the debuts in this, but on the basis of having played a certain number of games, as this is a shorter timeframe. 30 is my call.

And 2 players per country rule applies.

I'd like to give it a try too.
Although, if someone could PM me or direct me to a link explaining how the draft works, I'll be grateful.

Make sure you post a picture of the player you pick as well, just for a bit of graphic effect ;)

I presume we're having a 12th man, might not actually be a bad option as there's only a few of us playing so we'll have a decent pool of players to pick from anyway.

Yep ODI. It'll be interesting, lots of factors will come into play. I.E. Powerplays - the batsman who make good use of them, batsmen who are good at chasing, bowlers who are better at defending leads, captains who are good batting first/chasing. By the way are there going to be any Day/Night matches? Something like dew could also play a part in those, but probably best to avoid that.

Nah we changed the rules, it's players between 1990-2000 who played at least 30 matches. 2 players from the same nationality, we won't have enough players if we kept the old rule with the new one.

Yeah you can change your pick (we should've had it in the OP), those two were pretty obvious anyway in my book.
