ffs wanted them to go with Arteta.
Why?

Emery couldn’t even win the league in his first season at PSG. It’s a nothing appointment.

Tuchel will improve the fitness and play style of PSG.

Not gonna solve their defensive problems. It'll be as Wenger's days it's then. Good attacking football and scoring well but conceding shite ton of goals on the other side.
I don't think that would be the case. At Sevilla, he didn't have sufficient resource to patch thing thoroughly. At PSG, he ain't afforded with power to reign over the celebrity players so his tactic was compromised. He is quite tactic-nous and less gungho in comparison to Wenger.

Arsenal is not big spender compare to the big boys, but they should get decent enough reinforcement for him to patch thing up defensively

Also his handling of the Cavani and Neymar situation showed what a coward he was.

That can be said the same about Blanc. Maybe just maybe, he is not given enough backing to deal with these players and the player power is stronger than that's of the head coach. Would be interesting the next year seeing how Tuchel fare with that group of players in case there is not much change in the squad.

Monaco had monster of a season and where they had great players click as a team. PSG was not completely outclassed (domestic Cups and league points). Sure Emery underachieved, but that Monaco should be competing for the title every other season and favorite to win in majority of them all the same. PSG should be within title challenge distant too last season. Emery for all flaw in his bottom level shows that his top level can be competitive. Arteta is much riskier and worth for opposition fan to wish on Arsenal to sink them

Areta would of been total lunacy in my view. Still i'm not worried don't Emery's Arsenal will cause the top of the table much trouble at all.

While today I'm skeptical about Emery, this is not a fair point. Monaco gained 95 points that season, that's better than all but one PSG's titles. They just faced a team that was as good as them.

Makes you wonder whether Arteta ever was a serious candidate or just a media fairytale that the journalists now bail on via "11th hour rethinking by Arsenal".

Yet the only way they could challenge them is buying their players. PSG couldn’t beat Monaco in the league that season when they played them twice. If they had done that then maybe they would have won it.

PSG over his two seasons never looked remotely as good as TEAM over that Monaco team.

So why not just go for Jardim? He’s shown he can challenge the big boys on a budget. Something Emery couldn’t do. Winning the Europa 3 times is impressive. But 2 of them came when no CL spots were given and nobody took it seriously. Even Juande Ramos won two and look how he worked out. It doesn’t help he can’t speak English.

PSG were a better team this season that's not even close and last season's Monaco was indeed a very good team, one that went 1 point from equaling the league's points record, so not winning the league wasn't because he did a poor job. As for why not Jardim, it seems that he doesn't want to leave Monaco and Monaco don't want to let him go and since he is under contract until 2020, the situation isn't easy for interested clubs.
