NFL 2025

 this is great. Shough taken before Sanders.

A 7 year college guy who was backing up Justin Herbert in college, the same Herbert who's been in the league 5 years and he was in the same recruiting class as Trevor Lawrence, who's already on his second NFL contract. When he started college, Conte had just won the FA Cup with Chelsea.

Taking him with the 40th pick was crazy to me. There were a lot of good players on the board at that time and at worst the saints could have moved back to take him

Cam McCormick. He was actually in his 9th college football year.

Can't imagine why everyone was passing on him...?

What a bellend.

Said it earlier, but I truly hope the NFL & the Hard Knocks crww have a sense of humor & can read the room by choosing Cleveland for the show this year.

Kiper gave out 1A+. Wanna guess who he gave it to and why?
Already seen it. I hope for him he got at least some cash out of this. Otherwise it’s really just embarrassing.

Who is it?
Why explain it myself when I can let the great man do it:

The other main reason I gave the Browns an A+ shouldn't be a surprise. They got quarterback Shedeur Sanders at No. 144 to finish their seven-pick draft. He was my No. 5 overall prospect in the class and clear QB1. He brings excellent accuracy, completing 74% of his throws last season. He brings toughness in the pocket. I think he will be an outstanding pro QB, and I believe we will look back on this pick in a few years and question what the rest of the NFL was doing.

Although Kiper is probably scampering to protect his own credibility after the Shedeur saga, he is not half wrong that the Browns had a pretty good draft. Gettting a player who was projected by most to go somewhere in the 1st for the price of a 5th rounder will save them about $50m and result in them ostensibly getting 2 first round picks for the price of 1. Probably not an A+ but definitely no worse than the the Giants getting Carter and Dart in round 1.

That's assuming that he is good, personally I think that the odds are against him the same way the odds are against the vast majority of QBs that aren't exceptional. The pick that I like is Graham, in theory Garrett's job is going to be even easier and he was perfectly fine doing things on his own.

This would all be correct if Sanders wasn't a bum

He's definitely good. Whether that translates to the pros is still in question. This applies to Cam, Dart, and others as well. Teams frequently get their first round QBs wrong, so lets see what happens here.

The point is about being good in the NFL, all the QBs drafted are good college players.

Question….i thought the worst team in 2025 gets the 1st pick in the 2026 draft? Why am I reading the Jags gave up the 1st pick in 2026 to the Browns?

God bless Mark Maske, who transparently didn't have a clue, so just gave everyone a B.

They didn’t trade the 1st pick, they traded their 1st round pick next year (whatever it ends up) along with their pick this year to move up (and some other later round picks got swapped too).

and good old Chad, who is the "HS Football Coach who got roped into teaching biology" of this report card.

Ah ok, I misread it then. Whoever they traded with will be hoping they have high pick then !

Yeah… I think the guy who they took was a fairly prized asset… but I don’t follow it closely enough to know whether it was a good move or not

Me neither I watch RedZone and the playoff games and try and follow the Commanders but that’s about it.

I don't follow college football, but I heard the expected talent pool for next year's draft is meant to be much better.

Seems a bit of a shame if the Browns get too many of them to ruin.

Don't be silly, it was racism & racism alone that caused his draft drop.

I saw an other great claim, the NFL doesn't want black generational success. Which made me realize that Marvin Harrison Jr, Cameron Heyward, Cameron Jordan, Antoine Windfield Jr weren't their fathers' sons.

Someone may want to tell them.

I think it seems like part of the reason that he wasn't drafted high was because of his attitude & question marks about his life style & work ethics.

People might want to joke about this stuff but there has been in the past definite racist factors around the evaluation about non footballing factors. A white player having a draft party or celebrating getting picked is not looked at the same way as a black player doing it.

I think none of us really know or will ever know what was the reason for him being picked late but I wouldn't comprehensively rule racism or no racism involved in the case.

A black quarterback was the first overall pick
