NO UNITED GILARDINO TALKS
Monday 26th April 2004

EXCLUSIVE
Alberto Gilardino's agent claims to know nothing of any alleged interest from Manchester United in his client.
The Parma striker was reportedly watched by Red Devils representatives recently and Marcello Bonetto believes it is no surprise that other clubs are starting to sit up and take notice of the Gialloblu forward.

"Officially, we have never had talks with Manchester United," Bonetto told skysports.com.

"I don't know then if they have had talks with Parma but, in this case, we would have surely known something."

Parma's delicate financial situation means there have been no negotiations regarding Gilardino's future.

"What is sure is that Alberto is having a great season and he has showed his potential in a much shorter time than had been expected," Bonetto suggested.

"Obviously his performances are eyed by many big clubs but, at the moment, there is nothing.

"Also because, when we talked with Parma's chief officer Luca Baraldi about two weeks ago, he told us that things are blocked.

"So we are waiting for news."

Parma are still under threat of going into administration and any transfer dealings will only happen in June, once the season is over.

Gilardino, who is also attracting envious glances from Juventus, is one of the club's most valuable assets.

i think we should go for him
