Ole’s former team-mates who are now pundits refusing to call a spade a spade

Bending over backwards to call out the players whilst keeping the manager and the coaching completely out of the frame - it’s getting beyond a joke now.

How is it right to constantly savage the players like this whilst not calling out the way we’re playing or the instructions being given to them?

Keane is straight as an arrow with absolutely anything to do with us, but will not call out the manager - Micah having to remind him what the source of the problem is.

Keano’s raging and deflecting at the same time. It’s surreal. It’s not even dissonance as he’s perfectly mindful of how he’s using his words.

The less said about Neville the better. Guarantee Scholes and Rio will say nothing the next time they’re on TV, either.

Is there a single one of them on TV around the world who is capable of being objective?

Micah now putting Neville on blast about precisely this. Let’s see what Neville says back.

They should all recuse themselves from commenting on United if they're incapable of being objective. In any other line of work, there would be rules in place to prevent conflicts of interest.

Nope. Its mates and family FC where the ex players are so vocal and respected by the fans because we are a special club where the DNA is so important. Even if theyre talking pure shit.

Most people care about their careers and friends more than United. Neville is no different. He's no Red, more than you and me; whatever what he's trying to portray himself.

Shit show. Hate to agree with Graeme Souness but he’s been spot on today.
You have Souness of all people, and Micah, a City man, having to call it whilst Keane and Neville bob and weave their way through the discussion.

@GifLord could you put up that post-match segment?

They're his mates, do you honestly expect them to sit there and openly demand that he should be sacked? Anything less than absolute support is damning enough.

And there's only Neville who is going so far as to suggest that changing the manager won't necessarily help.

I dunno why people let it get them so agitated. Souness and co. are there to provide balance and that's what they're doing by making sure it gets discussed in the first place. If the club is relying on Sky Sports punditry to make decisions then it's no wonder we're in the shit.

I don't recall Neville, Scholes, Keane etc being so passionate defending Nuno from getting the sack or reacting much to it.

Agenda driven muppets. I've had enough of the old boys club nonsense. We're stuck in the past like Liverpool in the 90s and we're going absolutely nowhere.

So what’s the answer then Neville you absolute twat? Replace the entire first 11 because your boy can’t get a tune out of them?

Is spending the best part of a billion they way forward rather than changing the manager?

Keane defended Ole as much as Neville there, for those who worship him for being blunt towards United.

Micah held his ground on the obvious, Gary overall though is just embarrassing himself. If your not going to call the manager out then don’t be as vocal about how far behind our competition we are. I don’t get it with him.

Apparently it's free game to mock and bash on players every day, saying they should get kicked out, but do it to a manager and "you're a bad person".

Kelly asked Neville a direct question about Jose and LVG being past their peak or not, which he gave a response Tony Blair would’ve been proud of. She even said to him at the end of his deflection that he hadn’t actually answered his question to which he deflected, again!

These former players are supposed to love this club, yet they have been actively harming it for a long time now by refusing to uphold standards. It's a disgrace.

Enough of the old boys club at United.

To be fair to Keane he did say it was more hope than belief he had in Ole and that 'he might be better off out of it'

He also questioned whether the players had lost faith in the coaching staff.

He still went in harder on the players but he's more honest than Neville who literally refused to answer the question over whether another manager would do a better job with some nonsense about LVG and Mourinho.

Yeah, Keane just piling in on those he doesn’t rate is one thing, but absolving the staff at the same time is preposterous, particularly with his own attitude towards poor coaching and prep as a player.

The entitlement here is ridiculous, who gives a feck what ex man utd pundits say or do, half the time people on here just outright dismiss what any pundit actually says anyway, so why care when it’s directed at Ole?

Well done Micah Richards, said exactly like it is. It’s embarrassing listening to Neville in particular, why does he think we should run our club any different to others, advocating to keep Ole till the end of the season. I’d like to see if he would keep his Salford manager on after 3 years of no real progress.

This is symptomatic of where united are right now, following the same mistakes liverpool made. When sir alex came in he removed sir matt busby, when Klopp joined pool he removed the this is anfield banner, they both knew if you spend your time chasing the past you'll do nothing in the future. All these ex players who are pundits all these ex players as coaches, sir alex on the board they all contribute to this "united way", "when we played", "united play with wingers" etc atmosphere. Constantly keeping this club stuck in reverse chasing the past.

They should all (including sir alex) be moved away from the club and let this club evolve into whatever successful new form it needs to succeed.

Its also rich hearing neville, scholes, keane, rio talking about back in their days and standards etc when they pretty much spent the majority of their career at united under the greatest of all time. Wonder what rio, neville and scholes answers would be if asked should sven, mclaren etc have kept their jobs for england.

Never thought I’d see the day to be honest. Our old players really are causing more issues the more they talk.

Are you being serious? Or just defending those that don't want to call Ole out like you have for months or even years?

Keane sort of did, Neville talked rubbish. I think Richdards had it right, you shouldn’t go on telly saying someone should lose their job; but it’s right to point out that this run isn’t to the standards of the club and that these runs do get managers sacked.
