So if he's not sacked tonight you think the players will do much? They may down tools vs Spurs, I guess.
We’ll lose every game we play until he goes at this point. Midweek was a anomaly we should have lost that too.

Nah, there's too much noise, they'd have briefed that they're still behind him etc if nothing was happening.
Unless they actually have no clue what to do and the reports are true in saying they haven't decided

The thing is, we absolutely should be beating Villareal and a depleted Atalanta at home. The manner we won them though, ensured Ole got far more praise than he deserved for the results. Then you had the rampant 'in crowd' on here running around acting like he was some tactical messiah. The sooner he's gone, the better, for everyone involved. Hopefully then, this place can return to some normality.

This club operates on an entirely different metric to our main rivals. With the exception of Liverpool, our rivals home and abroad are motivated by one thing and one thing only...glory. For these clubs, nothing but winning and winning now is acceptable. Their existence is to win. Ours is to maximise value. Our board will consider this season a success if Ole recovers to get top four. Why pay out £27m on the chance a new guy might still challenge for the title when the title is just a plus?
Ole could lead us to 2/3rd every year for the next ten years and he would be guaranteed the job.
Our board won't be moved until it looks like top four is at risk.
Ole ain't reaching top 4 mate, people are just deluding themselves. This year it's tighter than it's ever been and we have three sides that are clearly better than us so thats us, Spurs, Leicester and Arsenal fighting for one spot. Just for perspective, Arsenal have since got their act together a bit and are just one point or level on points with us.

A few weeks from now we will be behind fourth by a quite a bit and still hemorrhaging points to average sides along with a disillusioned squad. This is no longer time for business as usual, let's not kid ourselves. The board is doing more harm than good by keeping their heads in the sand.

18 out of 39 points the last 13 games. For almost a third of a season we've had a points avg that estimates about 52-53 points over a season. That is just so so poor.

So they want Bruno dropped?

How about just dropping Pogba and playing a more disciplined 4-3-3 formation. Ask Donny and Bruno to play a deeper role with Matic or McT at the base. Drop Mason and start Sancho who is better at pressuring off the ball. Ole signed off on Donny and Sancho, and now doesn’t play them, so he has himself to blame.

So the players are telling a journalist they want Pogba dropped or Greenwood who has been our best forward? Just sounds like a made up story to me that the journalist hasn't thought through.

I completely agree though that we've got a top heavy, badly planned squad which is on the manager.

My god. I closed my browser with the “Conte is keen on United” thread tab open. I went away for 10 minutes, came back, opened my browser and saw a red page (the page you’re looking for cannot be found) and I thought it was a “she cannae take the strain captain”, so for a second and a half I rejoiced thinking he got sacked until I figured out what happened and reality dawned upon me. fecking hell

I love the guy but he's only got himself to blame for this.

Nothing, not a damn thing, forced him to set the team out the way he did yesterday.

If we defend deep, make it difficult for Liverpool and try and nick it on the counter, maybe we still lose? But there's no way we lose 5-0. I think only Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Matt Busby would've been able to survive a 5-0 thrashing at home to Liverpool.

They're our biggest rivals and we've not lost that badly to them in like a century. That's not the kind of result you can ride out easily.

If he'd have used the same tactics he used at Anfield last season and got away with a 0-0 he wouldn't be under this level of pressure, especially after getting away with beating Atalanta midweek.

The level of humiliation caused by the capitulation to Liverpool its what's done for him.

Dare I say it, even a 2-0 defeat wouldn't have put him on the edge of the plank. But 5-0?!?

Yet Ole was as most recently were quoted saying he's happy with his coaching staff. Even rumours about extending his (their) contract
He might be happy with them, but he seems to be very stubborn. It is the players who are not impressed with him.

Will always welcome him and not holding any grudge against him at all when he leaves. I can separate Ole the player and the manager. But he needs to leave straight away, we can yet save the season. He is losing the dressing room and as a man managing manager its damning. He has nothing else to add.

Ikr.

Just what people have been saying all along. If Ole is serious about successful himself, he could have been ruthless and lest things escalating like this. Now it's too late to change the coaching staff midseason and incorporate a different plan (which requires a clean plate). Happy go merry vibe can only go so far taking advantage of post Mourinho pressure cooking meltdown. Ole couldn't make a key short term impact decision, so he can't be trusted for the long term of club.

Everybody, like you say was warning that the coaches would be his downfall. It is being proved right. Loyalty is not a bad thing, but not when it turns into being stubborn.

I can understand why he went for it the way he did. If he had gone negative and not got the right result he would be opening himself to being called a coward. Especially as we were winless in the last 3 PL games.
Having said that, it just shows his naivety and lack of confidence in his own abilities.

maybe it’s just me, but this reads to me like he’ll survive. “considering sacking”. Come on man
I don't know. To me it signals he's most likely going and the fact that United haven't responded to questions about Ole's future tells me something is going on. Surely they would be quick to dismiss the talk.

I couldn't believe there was no changes after the EL final. All well and good bringing in a set piece coach but I really thought he was going to bring in a Carlos type to help out. I don't think it would've made a lot of difference if I'm being honest but he would've gave himself a better chance at success here. Surely he'll realise this once he looks back on what went wrong.

I completely agree the club has backed Ole and he's been unable to attune to the heightened expectation. He and Lampard suffer the same fate, more financial resources used hut with no clear plan it causes confusion. Only the best managers can cultivate and utilise a larger squad full of quality.

The thing is, I am Ole out, have been for a long time, not because I dislike him or anything personal, at the end of the day I've wanted him out because I believe he was never up to the job, even if I have been guilty of getting swept away over the last 3 seasons. The reality though is this is a thoroughly depressing day for everyone, I know most want him gone at this point, and for good reason, but to see a player be a part of such great times of this clubs history, and wanting nothing more to succeed with United fail in this way is just sad man, and I hate the people who put him in this position to fail, he really should have gone after his caretaker stint.

I hope you’re right.

Ole has lost the dressing room. However, the players don't want the season to go to the dogs and thats why they put in effort in the champions league games. The league is gone and the players know it. The sooner ole is sacked the better, we might still go far in the champions league with a better manager.
