Paulo Dybala

I like this transfer. I would have Fernandes as well, but they both offer something a little different to the role. Dybala is really a second striker, but in the modern game, that position is rarely used, so he plays as a 10. He brings a consistent source of goals to back up our front three, additional dribbling ability, and an added creativity around the box that we seem to lack. Rashford and Martial need that consistent performer among them, and dybala could be just that, particularly for Rashford. We still have that hole on the right flank, we can try using greenwood there this season ( hopefully). I feel the plan is to chase sancho throughout the year till next summer ( Rebuild phase 2)

They? Is that what they do is it? Or are you thinking specifically of the Lucy Blackman case from the 1990s? If so, it wasn't a balcony, it was a cave. Try not to sound so ridiculous.
Oh he we go. Not that I need to justify myself to you but it was a tongue-in-cheek comment and are you actually now suggesting that by using the word “they” in reference to people who live in Singapore and every city in Japan, that there was a racist element to my comment? Try not to sound so ridiculous.

Also I’m thinking specifically of the Lindsey Hawker case.

Wow! Five goals in 24 league starts for Dybala last year and we only have to pay him 350,000 £s a week. What a steal! Of course, if he has another disappointing year, Man Utd has another big name South American employee for life.
Meanwhile, Inter has offered 54 million £s for Lukaku. But that's below our self-appointed DOF's set value for Lukaku so it can't be accepted. In the real world if the price you set is so high that nobody will meet it, it's too high and has to be lowered. But that would be admitting having made a mistake. Can't do that.
Replace Hererra? Who needs a midfield?

The funny thing is I agree with the Juventus fans. I can't understand why juve seem relatively happy to see him go. Sure he is in Ronaldos shadow, but how much longer does Ronaldo have versus what dybala still has to offer

They’ve clearly decided to go all in on winning the CL and they have to do it in Ronaldo’s window before age catches up with him. Hence some of the crazy salaries they’ve been paying recently.

Not sure how it’s going to work out for them in the end.

Surely Juventus also have to balance the books financially as well? They've spent a fortune recently, especially on signing-on fees and new salaries.

Dybala has a history of being unable to adapt to systems where he isn't the focal point of the attack, so it makes sense that they sell him if Ronaldo will be there for the next couple of years. Pretty sure he's probably one of their bigger earners too. I'm sure in an ideal world they'd like to have him knocking about as a back up player, but considering his salary and current transfer value, it makes sense that they cash in now.

Lukaku will score enough goals for them, and will act as an upgrade to MM. I'd be more than happy if MM joined us for a lower salary than Lukaku (which it undoubtedly would be) to be a back up/ alternative option up top.

Whilst I'm not really for the signing of Dybala, having a current team mate join with him, having Pogba stay and then hoping the Spanish speakers (hopefully excluding Rojo, who I hope leaves) help him settle gives me slightly more hope.

Just hope he has enough about him to roll his sleeves up after he spends his first 3 months getting clattered around left right and centre, whilst the weather gets incrementally worse and he only sees daylight a few hours a day. I know a number of Spanish and Latin Americans who moved to Manchester and more than the cold, it is the lack of daylight during the winter months that depresses them the most oddly enough.

If Fernandes does go to Spurs, we have backed ourselves into a bit of a corner of having to get this signing done.

I'm still not convinced, and it really is the type of signing that has gotten us into this mess in the first place. If we end up having two flops earning £400k a week, there could be absolute carnage with other players and their agents knocking on their door asking for more money. It will be hard for the club not to justify giving it them, too.

This is a massive risk, despite what the fanboys tell you, and getting it wrong will set us back another fair few years in getting back to where we want to be. A penny for Sir Alex's thoughts...

Everything is a risk. Lukaku was a proven premiership striker in the old fashioned mould. And look what happened to him!

Excited to see which combo we end up with:

Dybala + Mandzukic
Dybala + Rashford
Dybala + Ben Yedder
Dybala + Martial

He scored one in two for us, and is leaving for the same money he signed for and hasn't broken the wage structure.

This is a riskier version of Sanchez. That trasnfer has completely destroyed us when negotiating new contracts and even signing new players. We'd probably be able to get Dybala for 100k a week less if it weren't for Sanchez. That's over £5m a year more, in addition to what we are paying Sanchez himself, who's offering us literally nothing. Such money haemorrhaging is not sustainable, and even less so when you're not qualifying for the CL...

How? He was already on 250K per week at Juventus, why would he move without getting better contract? Even Lukaku is better superb contract moving to Juventus.

There is no player at his peak or younger age who will move without getting hike on their contract, no matter which club they move to.

Link to the best video for him? I still haven't seen a video that makes him look like a $80M, 350k a week player.

Doesn't look the fastest, likes a dribble which is great cause we need more players to do that in our team. Incredibly 1 footed. Doesn't look like he has tricks to his dribbling, just good control.

Hope this guy has some strong determination cause I think he will need it if he joins. Also hope he makes lots of runs and has good movement.

Do not want if he is another that runs towards the ball.

Its not riskier than Sanchez at all. He's still on his prime and less reliant on phisyche. Je would instantly be our best all round forward upon arrival. Worst case scenario it doesn't work out and he leaves in 1-2 seasons for Barca or PSG for a huge fee. Best case he is our talisman and a key player for the next 3-4 years.

Of course I'd prefer he was desperate to join us. But it's not like we're his last resort; he's had the rug pulled out from him with his current club and we've shown we value him more. People appreciate being wanted, even if it's not their dream job. When you factor in that, plus the fact that we're getting rid of a player we don't want who wasn't technically good enough for our current manager in exchange for a player who oozes technical quality, it's hardly risky at all.

The only thing we have in our team bar Mata on top are runners. Dybala would hopefully be the more creative of them.

Fortunately Ole and the scouting team might have more info available to them than just YouTube videos, they might have even *gulps* watched him l...l...live?

I'm just hoping that he isn't training because he's simply waiting on us to agree a deal with his agent.

Elite level footballers, to get where they are, must have massive egos; imagine how bruised Dybala’s must be when he’s being offered in a straight swap for Romelu “first touch” Lukaku?! Poor lad’s confidence will be in tatters if he arrives!

If it happens, we're going to milk it

Where do you get your figures from ? it’s been widely reported he wants 10m a year meaning around 200k which is a fair salary in the current PL climate.

Thats after tax.

In peak form - 2017/18 season. Compilation of most of his touches in a game.

It is against Sassuolo, but then again you can check Barcelona CL or many games from that year or 2016/17.

And I really liked his Palermo version when he was emerging in his last season playing many games more as a striker with a license to roam around the attacking line.

Technically brilliant, very hard to push off the ball, golden left foot, pops up everywhere in attack with excellent finishing ability. As for weaknesses, not the fastest forward, can sulk a bit if things don't go his way.

All together, if we can use him the right way, he is a brilliant addition.

Of course, we should practice it as little as possible in actual games against actual opponents. We should also keep it secret from our players too, in case they're actually spying for the opposition. That should be obvious.

It's pre season, why would you practice your counter attacking setup in pre season when the matches don't lend themselves to that? You've said yourself that we used different systems last year. We'll see who's right, but i know i will be. We won't use 4231 in every game.

Looks like a Rooney type player -- drifting everywhere but maybe not technically as good as Rooney. My question is whether he will slow down our attack?

Surely we can’t be getting BOTH Dybala and Mandzukic for Lukaku ? Getting an alternative to Rashford up top AND a quality 10 for a player we don’t want and doesn’t work in our preferred style is simply a dream, if we were to get Maguire and a defensive midfielder before the window closed I’d say this has been almost (still need a right sided forward) a perfect window.

As predicted by yours truly.

According to Le 10 Sport, one of the reasons behind his resistance is the possibility Paris Saint-Germain will make a bid later in the summer

It's hardly ground breaking stuff.

It's basically pure guesswork and impatience. Jumping on the fact that the Dybala deal isn't done yet. His agent is continuing talks today - If he didn't want to come, that would've been made abundantly clear by his agent - Not by some shit sources guessing and filling their twitter timelines with clickbait bullshit.
