Yeah its insane. Saying x is better doesn't mean y is poor. The fact someone says Mbappe is better than Foden doesn't mean Foden isn't world class.
But we've gotta know haven't we?
Who's the GOAT? Who's got more gongs than the other guy?
Let's just enjoy the top exponents of the game for what they are without splitting hairs.

Gareth Southgate seemed to think so at the Euros didn’t he?
who cares if someone else think X and Y player are better than Z? Too bad it is not FM or fifa there is no current and potential ability to a player in reality.

https://sofifa.com/player/233049/jadon-sancho/
https://sofifa.com/player/253407/sam-greenwood/220036/
https://sofifa.com/player/231677/marcus-rashford/220036/
https://sofifa.com/player/246669/bukayo-saka/220036/

obviously Sancho has more ability and higher ceiling/potential among greenwood, rashford and saka.

Just my opinion, but Sancho and Greenwood are more talented than Rashford and Saka. It's a game of opinions though, as you say.

imo it also really depends on how a said player fit into the system. I highly doubt Foden will be effective in Klopp's team, and vice versa for Salah in Man Utd or Arsenal. Foden and Saka are playing well for their team at the moment.

Foden would be great in a Klopp team. And Salah would be a god send for Arsenal or United.

I would currently rank them

Foden
Saka
Sancho
.
.
.
.
Rashford

Greenwoods career is over. Sancho has a higher ceiling than Saka but he needs to be in a team that isn't complete junk for that to happen.

I agree with this. I think longer term Sancho has more ability and will be above Saka.

Foden is on his own though, hes amazing.

Great player but has he overtaken Vardy as the biggest chav in the league? That neck tattoo is something else.

You'd never catch a middle-class and affluent type with one of those.

Fodens got the luxury of being a top player surrounded by other top players in a highly functional system of play with a top manager and coaches. Turns out that makes a massive difference to players developments. The gap between youth and senior is huge so I think thats why we haven't produced any top tier talent from our youth system in god knows how long. We are completely devoid of the environment that gives players that tactical and technical aptitude that all the best players have.

Decision making and spacial awareness basically. Rashford has god awful decision making, Greenwood has/had awful decision making outside of a very slim operating window, McTominay has poor spacial awareness and positioning sense.

That's definitely true, but he also has the highest technical ability by far, with Sancho as 2nd.

This makes a huge difference of course. Pep obviously trust Foden's ability and introduce him in the team slowly. It is already a big achievement for Foden to become a starter in this City team.

I have no idea what you are on about. I am talking about an international manager choosing one player over another. What does that have to do with video games? Come back to the real world.

Again, even if it was true that Southgate picked Saka over Foden (it isn't), that doesn't suggest he thinks Saka is better. Southgate mostly wants players who will track back and help out defensively, which Saka definitely does more than Foden. Being better suited to Southgate's (relatively defensive-minded) system doesn't make Saka better than Foden.

Gareth Southgate seemed to think so at the Euros didn’t he?
No he didn't. First of all Saka played right wing, while Foden can play there (and started the first 2 games there) its his weakest position. Foden was competing with Sterling, Grealish and Rashford for LM, the fact he started the competitions first 2 games out of position ahead of real right wingers should tell you how highly Southgate rates him.

Its impossible to tell who'll be the best long term (though I think it might be fair to say the ship has sailed for Rashford). Right now Foden is in the first XI of one of the best teams in the world. I'm not sure the others would start at City but long term that can all change. In the not too distant past people said Rashfard and Jesus had the potential to rival Mbappe. Potential is nothing if its not achieved. Foden is operating at a super high level right now though had his struggles earlier in the season.

Not getting into a debate on this but there's definitely a chance it's not.

Feel he is a bit overrated to be honest. Impressed me very little in the Euros and I have seen for more productive players at City. isn't he playing upfront?
How many games did he play in the Euros ? Didn't he get injured after the first game (where he was played in his worst position RW/RF) ?
Which City players have been more productive than him at his current age?
Pep rotates him between the false 9 and LF positions and sometimes as a central midfielder.

1) Started the first 2 did nout then was dropped to the bench or out of matchday
2) They signed all their players at an older age so we never got to find out.

Another top player at the wrong club to be appreciated, no City players ever get appreciated because of how the club become to what it is. CITY win the league dippers players win individual awards it will be the same this year.
Foden class act, and will be one of the best English players in a while, but will he get the recognition he's talet deserves , no he's at the wrong club ,if Grealish is £100 million how much is Foden, he's better than Grealish.

It's so beneficial to City how much depth they have in attacking areas. I believe Foden only started 24 games. Grealish 23, Sterling around the same amount as well.

They're so fit and ready to go when they come in and it'll always be when the game and situation suits them to a tee.

Not to take away from their quality though. It's just that they're kind of in football utopia.

Would love to see him become Gazza for the national side. I don't mean a drunk waster. Footballers like him don't come around often.

4 PL titles at aged 21. That's mental.
Bit generous to say 4 when he played 43 minutes in the first title winning season and about 300 minutes in the second - 3 starts across both seasons.

The boys mustard the best young player in Europe. And deserved his young player award. Next few seasons he will win the major one as well.
