There's an old saying; "One Swallow does not a Summer make" (there are variations on that).
Just singling out Pogba's isolated great moments and good spells of play (incl. the Europa final) shouldn't define the player over the whole of his time at Utd and his whole senior career.
For context, Pogba's spell at Juventus was when he was a newbie, a young kid breaking into the senior team.
A very good team, already with an experienced, senior, world class and powerful central midfield.
He left Utd and joined them aged 19 and returned back to us at 23 yrs old.
The French WC squad were already stacked with plenty of top talent.
I don't wish to take away from Pogba's excellent performances, as part of that team, however, back to context.
The international gatherings are just fleeting, part-time moments.
Pogba has now spent 6 seasons at Utd, since he returned.
That represents the majority of his senior career to date (age 23 to 29).
6 seasons of mostly inconsistent and sometimes dire contributions, where he's proved conclusively that although immensely gifted in many respects and even great, or even fantastic on some occasions, he is in no way a "World Class" player (what ever that means).
What would change if he stayed on?
I'm not even confident that his moving to another team will produce any more than just flashes of brilliance, or short periods of "form" from him.
As many others have said, he'll mostly be remembered for epitomising this sad, negative period in Utd's history.
Hopefully, in just a few weeks time, we can just forget about him and move on.
