This team is still work in progress, we knew that already. The problem is that we don’t score when we are on top to make our lives easier. Plus, we are really bad at giving away possession and the fatigue is now catching up.
Ten Hag needs to come up with some tactical change so that we don’t continue to drop off in the 2nd half of every game.

To lose last 3 prem games to Brighton costing a fraction of Utd’s squad and paid a fraction of Utd’s players is a fecking disgrace!

If there were such a thing as an Anti Man of the Man -- let's refer to it as AMOTM -- it would have to be Anthony Jordan Martial.

Tony's lethargy and overall uselessness cost us gthe match. We were playing with 10 men, and although it's fair to be critical of Rashford, Antony and Casemiro for subpar performances at least they showed up and put in maximum effort. Martial put in no effort and effectively had United plahying with 10 men.

Deserved to lose that about 10-0. Very lucky it was only 1. So many minor miracles keeping us in the game all second half.

Shambles all over the pitch as per usual. Totally predictable result even if we fluked a flattering scoreline.

Whatever happens with the top four.. so many of the squad dont deserve to be anywhere near playing in the CL.

I understand not starting Eriksen but when we started to lose all control in the second half, he should have been the obvious sub in for Fred. Get Martial off and bring on Sabitzer to bolster the midfield and push Bruno wide. Weghourst's sub is the most mindless one and I hope it doesn't cost us the chance for top 4 because ETH is too stubborn to change his views on a player.

Notice during all of our 1v1s or shot attempts, it's like the players close their eyes and let the ball decide where it wants to go. How many times do they hit it straight at the keeper ?

No positives for me, sorry to say but we looked finished for the season. Totally running on empty, no passion (apart from Anthony) no desire and no idea how to break a well drilled side down.

Overall a decent performance. The game could have gone either way. We had better chances in the first half, and barely tested their keeper in the second half. Complete brainfart by Shaw, and heartbreaker as a result.
Besides the result, biggest disappointments are Martial who shouldn't ever play for us again IMO, and Fred who had a decent spell several months ago, but has been horrible lately.
We will need to improve our away form, but we played better than against Villa in my opinion.

We've seen it all before, the difference is the sickeningly late penalty that sunk us. If we secure top four by a single point no-one will need to worry about the these results and performances, but we're running on empty at the moment and desperately need a few more wins to finish off the league season.

We're crying out for ten Hag to wring something else out of these players but they look like they've hit a brick wall this season. We're passengers in every single second half and none of subs he makes make a blind bit of difference, and while I don't see any manager getting much more out of these players this year it's disappointing to see the same patterns game after game.
Totally agree, he’s going to have be super aggressive in the next game, we need to beat West Ham at all costs now and need to go out like this game is win at all costs.

In this game and the FA game they were the better team, if they had even a slight better player in the attacking 3rd they would have scored a few goals.

What’s the story with Sonny March and his corners? They weren’t within the marking or even on the line?

Eh?

Klopp never stopped whining about the fixtures.
Klopp did. The fans didn’t, because they were winning every week.

Our players are mentally weak. We don’t have a killer instinct and we fold at the slightest pressure.

This has been a distinctly average season, glossed over by good cup runs where we played a few shit teams on the way, aside from Barcelona.

At least things off the pitch are stable and we have a clear strategy going into the summer with transfers etc.

It's obviously not a coincidence that we are consistently worse (and terrible) in the second half. Physical fatigue, mental fatigue, lack of character, failure to adapt tactics at half time, no motivation from team talk, bad substitutions - or any or all of them?

How the fk can Webster, Dunk and Steele be able to keep the fking ball and we cant string two passes together. Heck they even have fking youngster Billy Gilmour and McAllister owning our Brazilian national team midfield and fking Welbeck keeping the ball better than any of our attackers. How the fk do they do it and we are so fking sht.

That's silly talk and you'll probably change your mind once the adrenaline wears off. We're still several points ahead with a game in hand, and a cup final
We’re 4 points ahead with 1 game in hand, if we lose against West Ham and Brighton and Liverpool win we are in a proper race for top 4, we need to go out and boss West Ham and start taking our chances, we are missing far too many chances.

Was there a World Cup last season? Did Liverpool play midweek fixtures for almost 6 months consecutively?

See this complaint about corners a lot. It’s legal (although one clearly wasn’t). Think about how all of the ball has to cross the line to score a goal and then apply it to the corner area. You can put the ball just outside and it’s still legally in the corner.

Haven’t we won 3 and drawn 1 of our last five? 10/15 pts.
In the league, yes but if you look at all the results since the league cup win, it has been disappointing. That’s the results. Then look at the performances in the games we did win and even some of them are a notch below decent.

The problem is we didn’t have Eriksen or Casemiro for most of that and now we can’t get them back to fitness and form. In many ways we have to credit EtH with keeping us afloat over that period.

We can still finish third and win the FA Cup but you have to be a confirmed optimist to believe it.

One thing you can’t deny, we have been bloody consistent away from home to top 10 teams.

Over and over again into promising positions but our front 3 were useless. We also had zero control in the middle so it just ended up end to end. I don’t think Brighton were anywhere near as good as the commentators were making out. Could have won that on another day.

At least we usually bounce back from losses. Thankfully only two more away games left, need to win one and draw one at a minimum.
We need that win against West Ham on Sunday. They aren't exactly clear of the relegation battle so it won't be an easy match. I am sure they will be up for it. If our players play like the first half whole match, we will win. If any part of the second half is on display, it will be another painful watch for 90 mins.

I'm so sick of watching other teams absolutely breeze through our midfield. There's no defensive security and it's so sloppy in possession of the ball.

Our away form is atrocious at the moment. We've been bullied in the second half away to Newcastle, Sevilla, Spurs and Brighton in the last few weeks. I'm really worried about West Ham away this weekend. We're opening the door for a Liverpool team who have everything going their way at the moment.

I make that 0 goals from open play against Brighton in 5+ hours of football against them this season. De Zerbi has our number and deserves credit for how well he has this side drilled.

Enciso also looks like a tremendous talent. We could do worse than signing him as Bruno’s understudy as unlikely as it is. Probably the reason why they’re happy to let Mac Allister join Liverpool in the summer.

Our inability to score goals is just incredible. We have good players. We create good chances. Why can't any of them score goals?

Have we won an away game against any of the top 10 this season? What an absolutely shambolic display and stat. We are knackered but we still have everything to play for. If the players cannot get up for it, maybe they need to be shown the door.

Sancho, 350k/week for that cameo!!

ETH handed them the initiative with his subs. Eriksen playing for the last few minutes could have put his foot on the ball and asked some questions of them. Instead we bring on Sancho, Weghorst and Sabitzer who are anonymous at the best of times.
Another game we should have won in the first half. It's getting to the stage where we know United will wilt late on so we have to be out of sight by then

Too many passengers in this utd team. Apart from the obvious ones, Antony, Sancho and Casemiro have now joined the group.
Thank feck we've got Bruno and Shaw!

But he's right. Our parasite owners have left us with no squad and we were still in for 3 trophy's until recently.
Another excuse. Im fking sick of it. We have been sht so long I think the fans have forgot who the fk we are. Losing and being owned by fking Brighton even though they are a good team is not acceptable. End of.
