The first was the carling cup, a tournament we didn't take seriously under ferguson and is a joke for other big clubs.

We're by far the biggest club in the other, with by far the most expensive squad.

Let's not delude ourselves eh.
How is it diluting when it's an out and out clear improvement on the last three seasons? I would bet that 99.9% of people on this forum are not happy with the current situation we find ourselves in but there's nothing wrong with being excited about the direction we're heading in.

It doesn't have to be black or white. We'd all rather be competing for the EPL but at the moment we're not in a position to do that so excuse people while we try to celebrate the small things, like two cup finals in one season.

I have finally calmed down after watching this rubbish.
Of course, I’m delighted to be in the final but what the hell was Jose thinking in the second half.

I sat in disgust watching as a team like Celta Vigo ran us close due to what can only be described as managing ineptitude.

Some where around the hour mark od there abouts, I watched Pogba collect the ball on the left wing and beat 3 would-be defenders in the tight comes away with the ball runs along the halfway line sees off a fourth and sucks in a fifth. Our right mid had sucked away the fullback into the back 4 leaving the whole right wing for Tony V to rampage in to. Pogba has now gone all the away across the pitch with the ball to just outside the right of the centre circle from left wing and had to promptly had to turn around and go the other way because no forward ball was on.

Tony V, our rampaging right full was in his position, in a line with the other 3 members of the back 4, half way back to our own box. He never budged.

This is celta feckin vigo. Not Bayern Real or Barca nor Chelsea or Spurs for that matter. Celta are crap and were there for the taking. They knew before the start of the game they needed to score twice. Because of our away goal. It was going to take two goals in all likelihood to have any real chance. So for 45 mins there is no panic and are hoping to sneak a lead and level up the tie. We get our expected goal but what does it really change? In effect, United scoring meant nothing to Celta's game plan. United needed to get a second just to be sure. And as we saw against Arsenal even crap teams can sneak 2 soft goals against us. What the goal did is just shorten down the time Celta had.

Comes to half time and the world and his brother now know the clock is as much an enemy to celta as we are. They are out as it is, what they got to lose by giving it a go? So now we know what they are going to do and our answer is to hold a flat back four at all times? Nonsense!

It was so frustrating to watch. This is how we have so many draws. No courage to push teams back and pin them in. A safe ball out to the full back on the halfway line is not exactly breaking formation. And let’s face facts if Guidetti was even half a striker we'd be out. We have Bailly out for the final because we invited them on they got their boxers chance goal which we gifted them. To be fair they fully deserved for their efforts. This gave them hope to fight on and try every trick in the book, get defenders sent off being one. Which they duly did. We all watch enough of Spanish football to know even Barca do this.

All could have been avoided by playing the right way. We would have killed them off surely. If not, we were definitely good enough to be camped outside their box instead of our own.

Most ill thought out 45 mins of football management since the PSV home game under LVG. We have pace to burn up top and we do not take advantage of this. But at least this draw did not cost us qualification to the next round.

Thank the Footballing Gods we are in the final.
