Exactly how everyone expected it to be I guess. 3-1 without getting ridiculed, could have been five or six if they really turned on in the second half. City are easily the best team and Team in Premier League-history, all the players know where the others are, constant runs and attempts. Impressive, they had 44 passes between them for the last goal.

Our defensive unit is utterly mediocre, none of these players belong at the top. I’d keep Smalling in the squad of course, but players like Lindelöf and Young shouldn’t be playing for United. We are 4-5 players short of being a top side unfortunately.

The Silva’s are amazing footballers, especially David Silva is now certainly in the hall of fame of the PL-era. One thing is certainly comfortable, there is a zero chance of Liverpool winning the title this season.

In reality the 3 city goals were not down to brilliance but down to sheer awful defending, and that includes De Gea.

Our midfield was slow and lacked any dominance. How Matic is allowed to keep starting games is beyond me and I think I have seen enough of Jesse Lingaard. The team was dispossessed so easily and looked frightened when trying to pass the ball.

We can blame Jose for this, but the recruitment over the last number of years has been beyond pathetic. Too many average players are littered throughout our squad and it is no wonder we are 8th. We need a massive overhaul at the top and get someone in that can plan properly for the future with or without Jose.

“City didn’t have to play well”...”training session for them”...”like an exhibition match”

feck off. They were busting a gut and played very well.

Somehow I am really surprised by the results we get.
Winning away against Juve and losing 1:3 at the Ethihad (something that can happen to any team) would suggest we are not too far off the elite.

However, watching us getting dominated without any chances created from open play speaks a completely different language.

Not sure if it’s just Mourinho or the (missing) quality of our players as we have been playing that badly for 5 years now.
We massively rode our luck against Juventus, and City didn't need to get into top gear today.

You don't compete for the big trophies these days by setting out to just counter the other team. You need to put together a dangerous attack yourself.

Shaw, Lingard, Young, Herrera, Matic, De Gea, Smalling. All P**s poor today. You dont win games and claw your way back into the top 4 with 6 players playing so bad
What did Smalling do wrong? He defended everything that came his way and none of the goals were his fault.

Outclassed in midfield today. Had no one with the ability to get the ball up the field without lumping it. All the the more frustrating when there is £50 million midfielder sat on the bench.

31? That can't be correct, surely?

As for this match, we need a change and its evident once again. Mourinho needs to go, he is simply unable to build the team we need to be. And I'd say that Woodward has to be removed form footballing matters as well.
Yeah unfortunately it is they have scored 36 and conceded 5. Only positive from the game is that we scored a goal against them. Sad to see that is the only positive from the team today and it’s all down to the managers tactics. Dull football from a dull manager. Didn’t learn from last season that when you have a go at this city team you have a better chance of winning. Sit back and it means our defence has to concentrate for a full 90 minutes, and as we all seen, we have been punished. Juve exposed the defence multiple times yet Mourinho doesn’t learn from this and persists with negative tactics.

Tough week, no Pogba, no Sanchez from the start (that one may be on Mourinho) but we were far from disgraced and let's be honest our board in the summer decided this season wasn't about catching them so let's just beat them at OT next year

Guardiola is on a different planet to Mourinho, that's the reality. Nobody is surprised to get completely outplayed by City. The scoreline flattered us if anything, and that says it all. This wont change until Mourinho is gone. Give us Kante, modric and De Bruyne as our midfield 3 and they would still outplay us and dominate us in midfield, and that's due to the managers.

After a 42 move attack. Our last man is matic. Who made a mistake but why was he last man. Our centre backs are what is completely destroying this team.

Both teams played in the image of their managers. One team on the front foot passing at pace and with conviction. Another team weak, slow and one dimensional. The game was open for us after we got the penalty and scored but we continued to hoof and barely created anything.

Yeah same, people are furious but the game was actually in the balance there for a period of the second half and had we equalized would people still be screaming José out? Still though not nearly good enough overall but that’s a different matter. As a one off game we could have got something from this we just lacked quality when it mattered. Don’t know what people were expecting from this to be honest
Today isn't the day for any Jose out stuff.
That's when we're playing as cowardly against much lesser teams.

Mou had these guys play so far back for the first 25 minutes. Embarrassing

Embarrassing really. Fecking get stuck in, foul them, press them, whatever... But don't just let them pass it around with so much fecking ease.

44 passes? Embarrassing.
Exactly! That's what pisses me off. Not losing, but the cowardly set up and lack of fecking heart! In front of Sirs Alex and Bobby as well. Bloody shameful.

We were never going to win today, however before that 3rd goal it looked like we could have grabbed a goal and got a draw. We just aren't anywhere near good enough at all. A long long way to go. It does take the sting off for me the fact that they are the most corrupt football club in football history, spending corrupt dirty money made off the back of humans rights violations and dodgy deals. Dirty club

We all know City are a fine team and that we'd struggle to match them at their place. Quite who is to blame for us slipping so far below their level is up for debate but those were the facts going into the game, which we all accepted.

What can't be accepted is how ridiculously shit we are at the absolute basics of the game in key moments. Our passing and ball retention are a joke, way below what's required against good opposition. However having done relatively well to nullify City and stay in the game we give a horror goal away with defending that you'd be frustrated to see at school level. It's bad enough going into games feeling so inferior in the first place but if we're going to give away goals like that on a platter what's the fecking point?

If both teams continue to average the same until the end of the season they'll have a GD of around +100 greater than us
And we should be -3 by the end of the season, just hope it doesn’t go to goal difference for europa league places

We were outclassed; City are miles better than us just now. It hurts to be in the position they were in most of their history, but that's the reality. We are playing catch up and need to catch up fast. We can't allow this to continue.

I suspect this was all JM’s fault for not setting us up to go at City Gina blazing away from home, less our most creative player.

Team did the best they could in what should, on paper, be our (and everyone else’s) most difficult game of the season.

Or are we supposed to never lose away to City? This is the first one in three seasons, and without Pogba we were always going to find it hard to play forward.

We're a proper midtable team, negative goal difference and all...
The defence costed us today

They were playing a different sport to us and what's worse is the feeling of being only one goal behind for the majority of the game yet having the feeling we're not competing or still in the game. I've never felt that before.

Well, the media, England, and the rest of the world got what they wanted: a comfortable City win.

I can't stand it anymore. There's absolutely no respect for us, and frankly speaking, we don't even deserve it at this point.
