Great match, couldn’t believe how many posters had just given up on the tie. Lovely to see our crap striker who can’t score against the big teams bagging yet another double. Was really a game for the much maligned members of the United squad, they stood tall and were counted.
Finally what an effect Ole has had on this team, he’s got our boys playing with passion and pride once more

Simply astonishing! I'm still sitting here with a stupid grin all over my face having watched the game on the TV, and I think I'll have to watch it on MUTV as well just to be sure it actually happened.

There were loads of really good performances throughout the team, but if I had to pick out individuals I'd say Lukaku, Shaw, Smalling and Young - Smalling man of the match.

There was a sort of poetic justice in Kimpembe conceding the penalty late on. He should have been dismissed for his fouls in the first leg before he scored his goal (and probably wishes he had been now!).

In a single night Ole has basically erased post Fergie history.

He’s brought back that backs to the wall (without it feeling like a grind) attitude in tough situations but balanced it out with letting the players playing with freedom and with the confidence to own the United shirt and do so with a swagger not as a burden.

Ole has also shown that Fergiesque trait of making even the lesser players grow and become men under extreme pressure and at the same time provided the platform for the more talented players to enjoy themselves. That is what being a United side is all about!
