This first round has been a slaughter for the PL teams. Tottenham, West Ham, Bornemouth, Brighton all out. West Ham destroyed against Oxford, 4-0.
Yeah but good teams such as Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea went through no problem.

Enjoying a Manchester United match after ages... nice to see the kids play... they are our future and we need to put our belief in them.

Story of the season so far. Playing very well, creating lots of chances but can't score.

Ole and every one of those players bar James, Chong, Williams and Greenwood should hang their heads in shame. We had established internationals and a world cup winner on that pitch being made to look amateur by a team battling relegation two divisions below.

The lack of coaching from the staff along with the lack of professionalism and desire from the players is absolutely disgusting. The club we love is being destroyed. Heartbreaking to see what we've become.

If the West Ham didn’t mark OGS as dead man walking, this certainly did. That team did not know what the feck to do against Rochdale at Old Trafford.

The positives we're all the young lads bar Chong who struggled.
The negatives were the same first teamers who have shown themselves to not be good enough for a while now.
We need to bring in players in January, whether it be midfielders or attackers with better quality.

I hope the manager is giving them a right bollocking in the dressing room. How can they let this result happen against such a shower of shite? It's a fecking embarrassment, losing in this way to Manchester United on penalties.

Can we change the name of the club on this site from Manchester United to Shitchester United? It aptly describes us right now

Im just trying to be positive here but Ole's integration of his players is working well. Greenwood, James, AWB, Maguire (in the league), Tuanzabe and Fred to a lesser extent have actually been really good, today and the other games they have played. Mctominay, Chong and Andreas sit in limbo for me. In time and with games they would both make good squad players. Lingard, Mata, Pogba, Rashford, Matic and Young have been horrendous. This is the core issue, 70% of the team is trash, no passion, no desire. I am hoping in 2 more windows (Jan and Summer20) this will be halved to a max of 35%. The sooner we rid of this deadwood the better. Today i think we actually played okay, we are just not clinical enough and do not have any leaders on the pitch.

What do you make of Pogba not getting picked to take a pen, seeing he is one of our 2 penalty takers, according to Ole? Bit strange that.

A typical league cup game as we've seen over the years. We have some terrible players.

In September, in a season where we're going to have a lot of lows, I can guarantee you tonight's WIN will make absolutely zero impact on anyone.

But let's talk after Arsenal and Liverpool. Those could be ugly.

It feels like everything at the club is struggling right now. How do Pogba, AWB and Rojo miss those chances? Arsenal is a MASSIVE game.
Nerves, pressure. Athletes need confidence. Every defeat and draw causes massive comment everywhere. It must do the players' heads in.

This club actually needs a manager, who's not only a good technician, but also one who possesses great self belief.

Still hoping Ole does well somehow.

Apparently one of our TWO designated penalty takers didn't take one against Rochdale. At home.

Got the win.
Play some kids.
Axel looks like he should be partnering Maguire.
Greenwood took his goal well.
Brandon Williams looked good when he came on.
We do really need to get away from 2 pivots and go to a more dynamic 4-3-3- we miss Pogba arriving in the box late and have no presence in the box what so ever

How? I only saw last 20 min. 31 shots, hardly Ole fault that our players are shit and overrated(Pogba)
I watched the whole 90mins, we were awful. Very disjointed, no cohesive plan going forward. We were bad honestly.

Greenwood good, Tuanzebe good, Williams and James bright when they came on. Pleasantly surprised how comfortable Williams looked, he'll be better than Shaw in no time. Fred doesn't look anywhere near good enough for United sadly. Chong looks way out of his depth. Pogba was mostly very bad, lost the ball needlessly far too much. Par for the course for him really from what I've seen over the past few seasons. Not much more to say really, the rest didn't stand out as good or bad.

Pereira's lack of awareness for their goal was ridiculous. Yeah ok he's not the left back, but christ almighty talk about taking an age to realise the danger.
