Absolute disgrace. Brilliant chance to make up some points for top 4 and we blow it.

My theory is that the team got a lift when Mourinho was talked about as a certainty. Then LVG said it was nonsense and the board is said to be happy with LVG and that sense of freedom disappeared.

Let's not panic; we should still finish ahead of Sunderland so it's all good.

Played for a point. The ref made sure we weren't going to win that.

Sunderland are awful.. but the worked very hard and did their job.

We are a nothing side..

Just got beaten by one of the worse teams in the league, LVG shouldn't deserve to survive after this but we all know he will. Utter shambles of a football club we are.

They didn't even look bothered. Martial scored a goal and tried a few tricks. Nothing more.

We are a team with world ambitions? Compare us with Barca, Madrid and Bayern and I won't have to make any more comments. EMBARRASSING!!!!

This loss was nothing more than what I expected. I'm sorry LVG, but you have too much negative energy right now. Leave please.

This just aint Manchester United. We should have been all over that team, but we were not. Somehow LVG remains as manager....this cant last much longer.

Where's my arc, Paulie?
No sense of purpose whatsoever. Talk about carrying momentum from one game to another. Poor substitutions and to add to that MORE INJURIES.

Amongst footballing managerial 'Gods'
False Dawn and we are becoming a joke. We need a manager that brings enjoyment and stability back to this club even at the cost of trophies.

It is hard to see us getting champion league football at the moment.

That switch to move Martial to the right to accommodate Depay has never worked. Yet LVG does it again, when all our good chances came from the left with Martial and CBJ combining. He is an absolutely clueless manager. Moyes was better than this.

We were laughing at Liverpool for getting a draw with them, but the joke is on us.

Simply outfought by this gutsy Sunderland team. They wanted it more, and they thoroughly deserved to win. They didn't play like relegation candidates, though by the way they raised their game, they can feck off.

We have been well and truly found out. Most of our squad is average. We don't have a work ethic. The players look afraid. The board is indecisive. The manager can't motivate anyone. I have said since the season started that we look about a 7th place side and I still feel that is where we are headed.

Not even angry, we get away with De Gea winning us points time after time and so you can't be surprised when we stop picking up points as soon as the luck runs out. Shocking performance.

Deserved to lose, we were played off the park second half.

No midfield, both Carrick and Schniederlin toss today.

Same players played ok, but let down by the same players.

Going to be hard now to get top 4.
