We didn't lose.

Sounds dumb considering it was Valencia but the fight we showed was notable given our recent run. Few more matches with Sanchez on the right and that central defensive partnership and I can feel it clicking.

Maybe we had few decent moments, but it wouldn’t be good enough even for a much less ambitious (nevermind expensive) bunch of players. Depressing game, never really felt like controlling the game, very erratic on both sides. Painful to watch and it will be tough to make it through group stage.
If the rest of our games are anything like tonight then the less games we play in any competition the better , at least while Jose the interpreter is in charge . Awful drudge .

Where the grass is greener.
Woodward is the same guy who helped the Glazers in their takeover of the club. In return for his efforts he got the position he currently has at the club. He is fantastic at bringing finance into the club, and his efforts are the envy of most other clubs with United becoming a financial giant, possibly the most valuable club on the planet. However, this has not been seen on the pitch as of yet. And we can only hope that the future will see United become as powerful on the pitch as they are off it.
He's clearly fantastic at certain aspects of his job, he's just got no right to be anywhere near the football side of things and that's been obvious for years.

Shitting on the fans who bother to go and pay their hard earned money is a bad move. They should be awarded for even turning up at the moment.
I left early & I was watching a stream.

I don’t like that idea because it can damage the reputation of the poor sod inheriting the shambles e.g. Giggs after Van Gaal
I dunno, i reckon caretakers are generally given a lot more leeway then actual managers.

It's more a case of if they do well, great, and if they don't, meh, it's just the caretaker....

Giggs was a bit different as he had clear ambitions to manage the club - so that was almost a dress rehearsal for him.

We weren't gonna score in a million years. Utterly terrible going forward yet again and were lucky they weren't particularly good. Personally don't see us getting out of this group with the fixtures to come. We really need to raise our game against Juve.

Jose actual thinks Valencia was a good opponent? Thinks we could not lose? Thinks we raised the bar? Did enough but could not score. He's lowered the bar of expectations so much in 6 weeks. What will we look like in another 6 weeks under him?

He's gone full Moyes

You never want to go full Moyes.

Felt like Lukaku was single handedly responsible for fecking up our entire match. Static, and mostly offside, is pretty much how I'd describe his performance.

Exactly, and that right now is one of our biggest problems, we have seen it many times now. Maybe a DOF will help, but only time will tell if the correct decisions are made in the interest of the football side of things.

The crowd was a disgrace.. Bunch of entitled snowflakes(not all) and Valencia fans took over pretty easily.
Mate there is nothing there to cheer at all. The players aren't even trying. OT has become so toxic due to our teams lack of urgency and our setup is a mess . There wont be long until the people you are slating wont show up at all. Mourinho needs to go and this place needs a positive approach for our next manager.

One thing I definitely agree with Moaninho is that we don’t have the technical quality in the back 4 to be successful. It’s been blatantly obvious for many seasons now. What I don’t agree with is him making these remarks in public. Hardly going to boost moral is it?!

The fact remains the squad isn’t good enough. You can have the best manager/coach, but it ain’t going to change the reality we’re simply not good enough. Moaninho has a large blame in the matter, his signings have been disappointing to say the least.

We need to restructure the football side of things with priority, appoint a technical director and start from there. The manager needs to go and the squad needs an overhaul. With exception of one or two players, the defence & midfield needs to be revamped. We’re at least 3 seasons away from really challenging for the top prizes and that time frame is extremely optimistic. My head says it’ll be decades before we get it right.
A lesson from history: I can see us getting relegated in next few seasons or so if we don’t get our act together. There are so many PL clubs now with loads of dosh and that are run properly that relegation isn’t unthinkable anymore.

Mate, I’m not the one tellling everyone that I am not going to watch the team anymore. There ain’t any loyalty of yours to question. You can question my loyalty if you wish, but as a season ticket holder who ensures my space is filled for every minute of every game, I’m quite relaxed.

Don’t claim you don’t feel entitled to anything, then start a paragraph with “all I want”, after previously posting that you are no longer going to watch the team for not fulfilling that. That’s entitlement.

Next you’ll be spouting some shit about no individual being bigger than the club, all the while not watching the team because of one man.
Since when did wanting something become entitlement? I want many things from life, but I understand that I'm not entitled to them.

4 shots on target at home against Valencia, that is really poor.

Not many of ours players would be starters for Valencia.. I love how we overrate our players.

Awful awful awful. Boring, laboured, flat, passionless, spineless....disgrace but for Rashfords effort. Its now a matter of when Jose is booted, not IF. Got to happen now, and I mean right now.

This situation is so bad, there is more than one problem at this club. Exactly what training are the players being put through? None by the looks of it. Man management? Epic failure evidently. Mourinho philosophy? Doesn't exist. Long term plan? Can't exist. We are at the point where the club needs bloody resuscitating and fast. We are bloody dying here. This might sound really dramatic but if we hang onto this club murderer, we could go down. Cannot see this team getting a result out of any game at the minute.

Disappointing to drop pts at home again , I don't think we lacked effort but there is a worrying lack of quality throughout the squad. We look a long way competing for big honours.

I am starting to get the impression that our team is just average. As much Is I did not want jose in charge from day one, I think all the flak he is getting is taking away the the below average performances that individuals are putting in.
This has been obvious for some years now, particularly on the flanks and in defence. Pogba and Matic have fixed our midfield, and the signings of Lukaku and Ibra made our striker area lethal ( even though Lukaku is clearly suffering from being so isolated in this 433). The combination of our full backs and wingers have been horrible for years, since LVG came in. In a 433, the creativity of the team is supposed to be provided mainly from the flanks, is it any surprise that we are suffering at the moment to score. Luckily Shaw has come on this season, and Dalot is a very interesting prospect which could help solve our full back areas.
As for the defence, this has been a problem since Vidic and Ferdinand left the club. None of our defenders have the composure, confidence, bravery and technique to play out of the back, this means we have a slow build up, not due to tactics, but rather as a result of lack of quality. The truth is, in an ideal scenario, all of the centre backs at the club would be sold for a pair of quality central defenders that are at least average in all these aspects.

We are looking at YEARS before we can expect to challenge for the big honours. We are leagues behind the top teams, the clubs run properly. Years

We lack the most vital component of a top team, or any team....a standout leader on the field. There isn't one. Pogba thinks he is but isn't good enough nor deserves it. Valencia doesn't do anything as a captain. We lack that special someone to take charge on the pitch. Wouldn't even need to be a world class player, just someone with the heart and love for the club. This is not a team

This feels as low as the Moyes era, players are either not playing for JM or short on confidence either way he needs to go , his interviews are getting worse and worse how many more times is he going to tell his centre halves they’re useless ? The 2 he paid 60mill for have both played in the past 3 days. Is he trying to tell us he p****d away 60mill ?

Disagree, with the right appointment and recruitment we could be competing in the 2020/2021 season. We do need the right man in now though, so that we can use the next season and what's left of this one to find out what's, what in our squad.
