Well I think we were due for luck against Villareal, because we did dominate the Europa League final and should have won it with the amount of chances we created, so I guess it evens out. For our performance, all I can is that was a sackable performance for Ole, and I think the headlines would have been very different tomorrow morning and rightly so. With the amount of talent and players we have in our team, undoubtedly a better manager would have got better out of his players. We have better players than last year, but it all feels so predictable these days from us. Teams know how to play against us. Bruno and Pogba are shut down in the center midfield and so they play out wide, and as long you block out good crosses, or let Greenwood cut inside and dribble his way in and shoot, there is no way we score. And once the opposition gets the ball, they can easily cut our midfield and expose our defense and run at us and we look really vulnerable then. Ronaldo is really saving us this season, or else we would have been worse off, I can't wait till Rashford comes back but Ole does need to change his tactics and play either Bruno/Pogba and not both of them, or we will suffer like today. I know this will be an unpopular opinion, but I do think it would have been better if Ronaldo did not come back to us, because of how great he was for us, and I don't want that when he eventually leaves, he goes on a low. But he does seem a shadow of his former self even though the goals are still there. If he doesn't succeed during his second time here eventually(that includes winning PL or CL which we won't) that would hurt because his presence has always been associated with success for us, and I hate thinking he is lesser of a player these days, or doesn't do much all game or should be subbed. Either way, goals win matches and he still does have that indeed, sometimes the supply to him still feels so dreadful after since his first game against Newcastle.
