Keeping Amorim is wrong. It is just like keeping ETH when he won the FA cup. Let him find a new club maybe go back to sporting. Get a proven EPL manager, not someone outside this league. ETH and Amorim hasn't cut it. Any mid table manager is better than these clowns

We're disgraceful and there seems to be a deeply concerning acceptance of it all. Like some summer miracle will happen.

Agreed. Mediocrity has long since settled in the club, but now there's also a numbness that accompanies it. "We need a preseason and a good transfer window" has become our "next year will be our year". Just wait and everything will fall into place... Well, if they can't be bothered, i won't either. Switched over to the classico at half-time. Best decision i've made all week.

What I'm most shocked about is how people are just accepting this madness now. Why the hell is he getting a free pass to just lose every week. Like Keane and Scholes said on the overlap, why can't we be competitive in two competitions.

I'm lost for words for how bad this situation is.

Whoever loses the Europa League final is sacking their manager. Similar to when we played Spurs away under Ole a few seasons back.

Basic match stats.

1st half
Shots on goal - Man United 5 West Ham 5
Shots on target - Man United 1 West Ham 1
Passes - Man United 247 West Ham 273

2nd half
Shots on goal - Man United 15 West Ham 5
Shots on target - Man United 4 West Ham 3
Passes - Man United 247 West Ham 195

Expected goals stats Man United 2.50 West Ham 1.66

This season is breaking me. Yoro and Fernandes are the only two player worth a damn.
If we lose in Bilbao this will go down as the worst season ever on a personal level for me.

You missed the all important stats. West Ham 2 - Man Utd 0

West Ham sat back and comfortably defended their lead. They didnt need to try and score more goals and thats the only reason we had a lot more shots than them in the 2nd half

It’s embarrassing.

This is going to seem crazy but I'm more and more confident in Ruben Amorim by the day. His system and the variety of tactics within that structure work. We've seen that throughout our European run to the final. Why does it work in Europe and not the premier league? In my opinion, it's down to time. In Europe we get more of it, and right now the players need it. They haven't yet gotten to the point where they are fully processing and reacting without thought. That will come if we give RA a long enough leash to get his ideas embedded in the players. A full preseason will help massively. We need a good few players in key areas and we need our players to get much fitter. We have an athleticism deficit to work on as well. And of course we desperately need a striker who is ready to lead the line for a top club. I fully believe the top brass at the club knew this was a likely outcome of hiring RA midseason. I think they did it to have time to figure out a road map for the next two windows to revamp the squad. They now who they want to move out and I hope it's finally time for a pretty decent clearout and overhaul. That may not be feasible financially, but I live in hope. And I will say if you add up all the things that need to go right, it is a LOT which makes it more difficult and longer odds.

The only thing that concerns me is that Spurs aren't going to play a typical European final style. They're going to play the way they do in the league and we're going to struggle. But, if the club has a plan and they believe in RA the way I do then missing the Champions League may, in the long run, not be the end of the world. Fewer matches next season means more time on the training pitch and that gets RA's way of playing embedded quicker. We also would get players into the club who truly want to be here and will fight for the club to rise up once more.

This could all just be me coping but I tend to be a positive person and I want to be optimistic about the club's future. I'd rather be optimistic and disappointed if I'm wrong or delighted if I'm right than pessimistic and feel 'good' about being right.

Obviously this is what matters and what we should judge the team and manager on. Not the fact that we are still in with a chance of winning a major European trophy and being in the champions league next season.

It was bad under Ten Hag but we don’t finish 16th/17th if he stayed. Win the EL or not, he has to go. The Prem is your bread and butter. Embarrassing.

The team should be between the 8 best in the league. His attacking options include: Bruno, Amad and Garnacho

Garnacho poor decision making, amad was injured and Bruno yes but our strikers don't finish anything he provides

Big Ange will certainly be gone if they lose. Ruben will be given until 10/15 games next season to see can he turn things around regardless of the Europa final result and with a trigger happy Jim and co.

If there are no crosses to attack, players don't bother to shoot on goal then there are not going to be goals. what were players doing in first half. wu were too comfortable in first half. against premier league teams utd needs pace and players to run behind defence. based on season so far and the fact that spurs are a premier league team with plenty of pace, utd have to really up their game as imho utd will be the underdogs in final

I've taken some drugs in my time but these seem the best.

Amorim out. Nothing more to add before we get relegated next season. Can’t remember a worse WH side to visit Ot and they didn’t get out of second gear.
Exactly if we stick with this fraud, we will get relegated next season. He’s already saying that the club is not prepared or ready for PL and CL football next season!

He’s made so many mistakes and he needs to go, give him the Europa League Final which I’m sure he will lose, he doesn’t have a plan B or plan C, even when his team does 11 against 10, he still plays 5 defenders and two DM’s.

Normally going into Final like ETH had last year the club picked up form and won 4 of the last 7 PL games last season. He and his backroom staff are massively out of their depth, we could sack him at the end of the season and go get any of the following as a PL Proven Coach?

Oliver Glasner, Andoni Iraola, Thomas Frank,
I’d even have Ole back on a 2/3 year contract as he understands the weight of the club and will hit the ground running.

Ruben is massively out of his depth, even if we have no European football next season he’ll start making excuses that his team is rusty because they only play one game per week not two like 9 of the other PL teams.

He was journeyman as a footballer and he’s the same as a coach, needs to go with Berrada too, Wilcox should be reviewed over the next 12 months too!

Failure at Man United at this level can not be accepted ever!

The system isn't the issue. The problem is the players don't suit it and aren't good enough.

If the board doesn't back Amorim heavily in the summer next season we are screwed.
As we have all been saying taking him on mid-season, when he is stubborn with his system and giving him this squad that does not suit any known system was absolute madness.

Absolutely appalling again. If we'd have played our under 17s today I'd have understood the line up and the result but a lot of this lot will be starting v spurs

Hojlund is factually the worst starting center forward in premier league, even relegated Ipswich has a better one (and surprise, we are trying to buy him).

I know it is not just on him, but Hojlund's shit form definitely had huge effect on our shit season. Another evidence today - had he played decent, we could have scored at least 1-2 goals
Totally agree. I’ve tried, but I just can’t take him anymore. This is just insanity to play without a centreforward week in and week out.

Yup especially since he wanted to come in the summer and RvN would have been fine managing the squad till the summer.

Beautiful afternoon but completely miserable performance. West Ham scored with minimal chances but we were so poor in attacking positions, did Hojlund even complete a pass today? Yoro’s injury feels worse than the defeat though as he’s going to be so important in a few weeks. Need to do so much better to beat Spurs in Bilbao anyway.

Today feels like a truly apt way to commemorate 20 years of Glazer ownership.

Let’s be honest…nobody in the league is going to shudder at facing a forward line of Hojlund, Mount and Mainoo.

I’m sure most teams would share a laugh in the dressing room at how weak United are currently.
I don’t forget they would lose too many nights sleep Fa ing a coach who sets up 5221 and leaves a great big void in the pitch for the opposition to push their full backs up and CB’s to dominate the midfield!

Trust me a lot of clubs will hope we keep the clueless imposter of a coach!

Journey man as a footballer and he’s the same as a coach, truly awful appointment and Berrada needs to lose his job over insisting on him!

I’m absolutely sick of hearing opposition fans of dog shit clubs taking the piss out of us at Old Trafford. It’s become a regular occurrence this season and it’s fecking unacceptable!

Absolute cluster feck of a season.
Even if we win the EL it will barely make up for the PL showing.
Worst United I have seen since relegation .
Let's be honest, none of our managers would have survived a season like this. 50% loss rate.

And too many of our highly paid players think it is somehow beneath them to break sweat.

I watched my grandchildren running the junior park run as I do every Sunday morning. Always striving to beat their best times. Giving everything and being disappointed if they didn't.

The difference between them and most of our players is massive.
And I know who I would rather watch.

I think the problem is that fitness is only part of it. Our squad is very slow and weak compared with most PL teams, and is not technically good enough to overcome that lack of physicality. Making the players fitter will help a bit, but there is a ceiling on how much slow players can improve in that respect.

You're right that this squad is much more suited to the slower pace of european games, but it's a problem that our main competition is the fastest, most physical league in the world.

The only person who has achieved less in his time at the club than Amorim is Ratcliffe… shambled is far too good a word to describe us. Utter fecking mess

Can you blame them?

I think that's 8 teams who have completed the league double against us this season. Unless Bruno or Amad grab the game by the scruff of the neck, we're clueless. Hojlund up front is like playing with 10 men. Just play Obi. He can't be any worse.

Amorim seems to be falling for the EtH trap of not appreciating how important it is to overload the midfield in the PL.

I like Amorim, I have defended Amorim, and there are mitigating circumstances, but what works in Portugal and Holland won't work here.

I'm sure he's smart enough to figure it out but you can't have such big gaps everywhere so something needs to change

After Bilbao, I expected a low-energy performance from United today. Even so, there was enough out there to see off West Ham and their fecking bubbles.
