Obviously this is what matters and what we should judge the team and manager on. Not the fact that we are still in with a chance of winning a major European trophy and being in the champions league next season.

There is a very real chance of us finishing 17th in the Premier League. 17th! Imagine if any of the promoted teams had been vaguely competitive...

The Europa League was never a "major" trophy by virtue of the fact that the best teams aren't in it and it is even weaker this season because it doesn't hoover up the Champions League dropouts. It is an absolute backdoor route into the Champions League for one of two teams who 100% do not deserve to be anywhere near the Champions League based on the vast majority of their performances this season.

I just don't think people are appreciating the scale of how bad things currently are. Talking like we're about 9th or something.

Oh I think we do.

Before there was Hojlund the Caf wanted us to sign Evan Ferguson. He was on the bench for WHU today. Would we have been any better off with him?

Exactly if we stick with this fraud, we will get relegated next season. He’s already saying that the club is not prepared or ready for PL and CL football next season!

He’s made so many mistakes and he needs to go, give him the Europa League Final which I’m sure he will lose, he doesn’t have a plan B or plan C, even when his team does 11 against 10, he still plays 5 defenders and two DM’s.

Normally going into Final like ETH had last year the club picked up form and won 4 of the last 7 PL games last season. He and his backroom staff are massively out of their depth, we could sack him at the end of the season and go get any of the following as a PL Proven Coach?

Oliver Glasner, Andoni Iraola, Thomas Frank,
I’d even have Ole back on a 2/3 year contract as he understands the weight of the club and will hit the ground running.

Ruben is massively out of his depth, even if we have no European football next season he’ll start making excuses that his team is rusty because they only play one game per week not two like 9 of the other PL teams.

He was journeyman as a footballer and he’s the same as a coach, needs to go with Berrada too, Wilcox should be reviewed over the next 12 months too!

Failure at Man United at this level can not be accepted ever!
:lol:Good rant, but the bolded point is silly. Many would argue SAF was.

Probably not as he cannot get into any team and has a lot of injuries as well. We are too fast to get excited over any player who has a couple of good games and that we should sign them.

It’s more than the shape though it’s philosophy. We don’t encourage attacking movements, we’re very slow and static. Lots of Portuguese League teams are similar from what I’ve seen.
It’s not just philosophy it’s attitude, most of the team have Rashford syndrome. One good piece of work a game is enough for them. Our defenders barely try to stop he ball. Eth spent 600m on a mid table Dutch team, not even the top players from that league and Amorim can’t change any of that till the summer. We are half overrated youth players (most of which should be nowhere near the first team) and half geriatrics. Our keeper cant save the ball and our striker can’t finish. The league is all about pace and power now and we have non. We’ll need a keeper(cheap) a striker and some big fast technical adults in the middle of the park. It’s why we do better in Europe it’s a different game. Cannot forgive the laziness and apathy though long term there is maybe one or that will still be with us. Speaks volumes that nobody is interested in any of our players bar Bruno.

Just checking the last few results in the PL and it runs out that after the win against Leicester, United has got 2 points of 21. That's just insane, Europa League run or not.

Stupid playing anyone that would be a starter for the final. If he does the same and we face more injuries against Chelsea he won’t deserve to start as the “coach” next season.

Then we'd get to the final and you'd be complaining that the players look "rusty".

Giving away all these games in Prem will look very stupid when we lose the Europa final.

Playing like this, we will.

It was bad under Ten Hag but we don’t finish 16th/17th if he stayed. Win the EL or not, he has to go. The Prem is your bread and butter. Embarrassing.
Apples/pears, We were 14th when Eth left and getting hammered in Europe with a team he hand picked what makes you think he would have done better?. Would Amorim would be where he is now if he had spent 600m.

Oh so now shit aint acceptable , fan base let standards go to shit long long time ago, from doing mental gymnastics to defend different managers, to delusions about players and this franchise as a whole but now is enough...

The worst thing is we are not even resting players, playing the kids or backups. No this is close to being our best team and we are still losing

At first I was a bit reluctant to go to a family BBQ today while the game was on, but it appears I was spared a gruesome watch with that.

What I'm most shocked about is how people are just accepting this madness now. Why the hell is he getting a free pass to just lose every week. Like Keane and Scholes said on the overlap, why can't we be competitive in two competitions.

I'm lost for words for how bad this situation is.
Anyone who thinks our PL record is anything other than disastrous, or that we're anything other than a shit team just because we're in the EL final, should have a long hard rethink. If we don't turn this around in a big way, and quickly, we have nothing to do in the CL anyway.

That was the first game I've not seen for years and it was interesting to read the comments. Folks are now openly saying "Amorim out" and not being called traitors.

It feels like the posts are over 80% Amorim out. One post that resonated with and made think, and it gave me the feeling that maybe Amorim doesn't understand how important the PL is, and he is perhaps massively arrogant about his ability and slef-importance, and just hides it behind a great PR personality.

He seems to not have any sense of urgency or the magnitude of the problem.

Oh I think we do.
I think you do

Less so the hordes of people asking every week what we all expect Amorim to do with "these players" and making out like we are only a simple, affordable Hojlund replacement away from being back in the top 4.

The worst thing about today was west ham were rubbish and still easily beat us.
That’s the most annoying part too. They were nothing great but simply took their chances when they had them. Most important to do in football which we have been incapable of.

The luck we have had to get to that finale is equal to the amount Amorim has that we reached it.

This last six months is the worst I seen being a United fan watching more or less every game for thirty years.

You who support Amorim, would you do that even if we were out of Europe?

What in the world is gonna need to happen this summer? Buying the Avengers?
