Chelsea play AC Milan later on (23:30 kick off UK time). I hear that De Bruyne should play which is great news, the injury he got in a friendly the other day looked bad.

You'll have to let us know how they get on. Just turned on Talksport and they had an commercial on for the Emirates Cup, after it's finished. What's the betting some daft Arsenal fan will ring up for tickets.

Celtic 2nd XI beat an almost full strength LFC 1- 0. Scored early and parked the bus well. Perfect practice for Stoke next, hopefully without the same result.

Gerrard and Enrique were surprisingly useless, hopefully just effects from extra training.

So our pre-season ends having conceded 3 goals in total, winning all but this last one. Good points: Ibe looks a monster already at this age, and a wonderful footballer. Coutinho/Sturridge partnership continuing where it left off last season. Magical touches and understanding.

What did you think of Ibe duffer? Not that he'll feature much this season - he's only 17. Glad to see Sturridge return so positively from his injury, need to keep him fit while Suarez is out.

Godfather, LOL, did you not have Coutinho AND Sturridge in your FF team second half of last season? ;)

Ibe looked very good. He's a bit young for the first team though I would think. A bit like Bertrand Traore for us, looked one of our best players in our first few friendlies but will go out on loan for certain.

No as the last time I played FF was 3 years ago and I sucked, so I decided to do other stuff....like getting laid.

Watched some of the Arsenal/City game.. Ramsey played very well for Arsenal and scored a great goal. Negredo completely out muscled Koscielny for his goal. Koscielny was using two arms trying his hardest to put him off/foul him but one arm from Negredo held off both of Koscielny's and he also finished well.

Nice one Godfather. Can I tell my 4 kids your life story too?

No problem at all. But don't forget the part when I chose to support United. Following that route will prevent them from a life full of bitterness and dissapointings.

Ramsey reminds me more and more of Cesc each passing game. Not quite the same quality obviously, but very similar abilities.

Schwarzer just properly fecked up a backpass, it bounced off the post and a Roma player tapped it in.

1-0 Roma.

Luiz has also clearly been told to play long balls as he's hoofing it every chance he gets.

Negredo fouled him with a rugby-style hand-off - same as he did to Martinez v Bayern. Won't get away with that again this season.

Just seen Schwarzer's balls up...that was pretty special, albeit not as tragic as Taibi's for us a few years back!

Anyway, what's the deal with Mata? He's not playing is he?

Is he injured? Surely he's not out of favour, he's class!

Let's just do a straight swap for him and you can have Rooney, cheers.

EDIT:

I'm watching this on a pretty shoddy stream, but is that Strootman in the centre of midfield for Roma? I have been very impressed with whoever it is anyway, great passing ability.

Mata is out injured annoyingly.

We won this 2 - 1. Lampard with a peach from outside the area and Lukaku with a scrambled finish after a great run from Hazard.

Hazard was the stand out player by some distance. Mikes and Essien were muck in centre mid.

We ended up with Ba and Lukaku upfront together with Ramires at right back.

Arsenal beat City 3 - 1, with Walcott, Ramsey and Giroud all scoring good/class goals. Negredo scored a strong goal too.

Strangely enough it seems we had this kid on trial and he played in the game - Sebastian Perez, a Colombian CM. Surely he must have been a confirmed signing before his game though, could you really have someone on trial feature in a game like this?

Well, Chelsea used Bertrand Traore in our Asian tour and he's still a trialist. Can't be signed officially until he turns 18 in September.

If trialists aren't allowed to play in friendly non-rules sanctioned matches.. Then when are they going to play?..

Varies from country to country - for instance Scotland made some changes prior to this season

We've had trialists playing for first teams in the lower leagues for as long as I can remember (you often see "Trialist" as the goalscorer on the vidiprinter). It's very unusual for a top tier side doing it though.

Also,Traore for is not really "on trial" at Chelsea , he's been here for more than 2 years but can't sign a proper contract due to his age and work permit issues.
