It seems to be the thing now. Grealish, Kane and Lukaku (lol) all potentially moving to PL teams for £100m+ this summer.

United will at least have to break their own record transfer fee and the £100m barrier in the next couple of years as it’s what teams will demand for the top players.

But when and who?

If we try for Haaland next summer then he's the prime candidate I suppose.

I'm not convinced we'll have to, waiting a year got Sancho's price down. Clearly Haaland is a long term target and he'll be less than 100m

Ole's done a great job building the squad we have with CF aside the only other really pressing position being midfield and I'm not seeing any 100m CM's on the market any time soon

If Lukaku ends up costing Chelsea more than 100m then Haaland sure as shit will go for that price and more. Chelsea have reportedly had 100m+ bids turned down just this window.

If you include wages then they have spent £100M+ on several players already: Rooney, Maguire, Rio, Pogba, etc.

A striker or CM would be the most obvious position for that amount, but dont see any realistic targets with that sort of value for a good few years ahead of us. Haalands clause rules him out of that bracket

You don't buy a Fiesta and then add up how much fuel you need to buy for it and decide it cost the same as a Porsche

If you are budgeting about car affordability, gas and insurance are important factors.

It's going to be while of things pan out. If We get Haaland whilst Greenwood, Rashford, Sancho and one of Pellestri, Elanga and Amad reach their potentials we won't be signing a forward for a while. Forwards tend to cost the most. The only other candidate could be Bellingham.

I was reminded of an argument recently on one of the Arsenal threads where in response to the comparison of Varane @ 35M and Ben White @ 50M, an Arsenal fan claimed that if we included wages, White would be half the cost: Varane @ 150M and Ben White @ 75M (he was wrong of course, we aren't paying Varane 400k/week).
