Been a while. We beat Chelsea and the stadium was not loud. Obviously not pinning anything on the fans, don't be ridiculous. Just can't remember hearing Old Trafford so loud as the Liverpool fans were trailing Fulham at home with 5 minutes to go.
Because they're expecting to come back and win, because they've seen it too many times over the last few years to not expect it. Same way we did when we were good.

How was the magical Anfield atmosphere saving them when they were shit for 30 years?

Sky showing the dullest game yet again.

It's a good tweak that in the next broadcasting rights cycle all Sunday 2pms will be shown live as there's so many good games going untelevised currently so Sky can fill up their quota of showing likes of Forest and Palace in first half of the season.

Have to credit Bournemouth, they have improved immensely from the opening few weeks and should stay up comfortably, happy to take the point in the end and not many will have easy games down there.

Disagree. Liverpool are 2-3 down to Fulham at home with 5 minutes left and the fans are cheering like they are beating us 7-0. Very easy to find some extra energy and motivation when you've got thousands of people basically forcing you to. Old Trafford has been bad for a long, long time.
For sure, Anfield is just different. I hate Liverpool (a good team though), the only team in England I don't cheer on in Europe (mostly cause of Dumbstar) but that place is special, any other supporter base would have turned into mice at the 2-3 goal and been frustrated. While the team do give the supporters a lot to cheer the atmosphere is certainly different in the stands when the chips are down to just about anywhere.

As I said, good performances build that atmosphere. And I’m talking about good performances over a prolonged period of time. Liverpool have been top class for years now. Hence their fans have faith in them and always believe in them, even when things look grim. We used to be the same. Back when we had a good team. The fans are essentially the same. Years of watching a shite team is the problem here.
to be honest the atmosphere at anfield was also good when Liverpool was as inconsistent as we are now.

Also watching end of Chelsea match, it was ridiculous Pawson was told to go to the monitor when it clearly hit the defenders head. How the feck did Brighton not get a corner out of it though?! That would've been interesting as imagine they'd have sent the keeper up.

And if anyone still has any hope left for it not happening: they are absolutely winning the league this year.
No they're not, Liverpool are going to finish 3rd, both City and Arsenal are more favourites for the title than them.

This Liverpool team by their actions over the years have a lot of credit in the bank for their supporters , there is a bond between team. A lot of our supporters while they support the club despise a lot of the players currently playing for us. There is no bond there .

Any other Chelsea fans have a meltdown for the thirty seconds when it appeared the ref had given a pen?

It's not by choice I think at least according to Wikipedia, guess they try to keep the big teams for big games.
"Each broadcaster is subjected to restrictions on the number of times they can show each team live per season to ensure fair distribution of TV revenue. Similarly, each team must appear at least once in each TV slot."

I’ve made so much money from betting on City / Liverpool / Arsenal to win from losing/drawing positions in the last 10 mins. It happens almost every single time. It’s what it would’ve been like for them watching us 10/15 years ago.

I know he’s just come back from injury but how long before Jack Grealish gets fed up of the Kalvin Phillips impersonation? One thing is Doku actually gets past players whereas Grealish draws in those fouls that helps City, so that should put a stop to that nonsense.

How is that not corner?

What is this nonsens. It should be Brighton who gets the ball.
It's because Pawson blew play dead for a penalty originally - so that effectively nullifies the corner because the phase of play isn't allowed to continue.

It's procedural bullshit but technically adheres to the letter of the law.

looked like a foul on the Fulham player before the goal, I've seen way softer fouls being given this season

Fulham scored 3 against Liverpool we probably won’t even score 1 past them. Difference in players that give everything and players that don’t

Spurs playing 2 full backs in centre defence vs Haaland. Are their injury problems that bad?

You say that like they weren't like this back in 2003 having won feck all for years. It's just a different type of support. Liverpool fans are more like cultists. United have a problem with a lot of spoiled fans in their 20's plus decades of succesful commercialism bringing in fairweather fans. Also doesn't help how terrible the accoustics at Old Trafford are. The away fans are always louder so there must be a bigger reason than simply the performance on the pitch.

You don't seem to disagree though that the atmosphere is bad these days. Is the atmosphere beyond criticism? No. So what's the root of that? Just poor performances? I don't buy that excuse. Plenty of clubs with great support every weekend in the 2nd division in their country and few wins. No there are different reasons.

When i look at how clubs like Fulham play compared to us..... I can guarantee you that we won't perform anywhere near as well as them at Anfield. Our players are cowards who will fold at the slightest inconvenience.

You do raise a good point.

Let’s just say it how it is: Anfield is rough as feck and in a really rough place. Scousers are scallywags and create a raucous atmosphere.

We have Lance and his wife fly over from California for the weekend and just sit there filming the game on their iPhone.

Nobody saw him signal for a penalty. I have just left the ground and it was right in front of us. I’ve since seen highlights and again, he doesn’t give a penalty. There was an immediate whistle blow to hold for the VAR check while we were lining up for the corner, then he went to the screen - correctly no penalty - then he gives a drop ball.

I can absolutely guarantee we’ll receive yet another apology for this.

They aint going to apologise for not giving a corner. They only do it for red cards, pens or goals.

It’s comical how often referees screw up such basic things.

You really have to watch other sports with far better refereeing processes to appreciate how incompetent these guys are.
