Right, VAR cannot work in England with things like that, there's something fishy going on. They've been told to never go against the ref, it can't be any other way...

So why wasn't that a penalty? Not that it matters now, but there's no reason not to give that.

:lol::lol::lol: So what the hell actually constitutes a clear and obvious error? It should have been a penalty and no penalty was given, what's not an obvious error about that? Only in football would they complicate something that doesn't need to be complicated, it's either a foul or it's not.

It's ridiculous, it's obviously just for ruling out goals that are a few mm's offside. I'm a utd supporter and that was a blatant pen the same way Martial's was yesterday. If it's at least questionable why aren't they telling the refs to watch a reply like in other leagues?

It's been worse than useless so far this season.

Anyone often wonder where we’d be now if we’d got Pep in 2013?
You could be right where you are, if he only gave you three years. Look at us.

Quite amazing how Silva and Aguero managed to weasel through all of Bournemouths defenders on approximately one square meter.

The 'clear and obvious' rule is just a cover up. The reality is most of the officials that sit in that VAR room are too spineless to overrule the referee's. The standard of refereeing is piss poor so we're going to see more and more of these bad decisions until they finally tweak the system.

Because an offside even if by a few mms is objective, no two ways about it. Whereas any penalty call will have a subjective element to it where they have to defer to the onfield referee.

He’s miles onside? Why don’t they just play on and check VAR after?
