You don't want Becks to stay? I know he's not the fastest player in the world. But he's still a great crosser of the ball, takes wonderful free kicks and he actually feels something for the club. There's a loyalty there, a bond. And he always works so hard when he's on the pitch. You can always count on him to give 100%. As a package, it's not easy to find players with all those qualities. I'd really hate to see him go.

Becks' crossing has been a bit poor on the whole for a month or so(cross for Ruud's header apart). Actually whoever takes our corners seems to struggle to clear the first defender. Soooooo frustrating, that!

He did put in that one great cross for Ole yesterday that Ole, so uncharacteristically, headed wide.

Tough call yesterday. I definitely would have started Ole on the right. It would have been between Seba and Becks. Seba's been outstanding in Europe and if he was fully fit, I would have gone with Seba...but with an unfit Seba... Like I say, tough call.

Ah yes, I remember that cross for Ole now.

When I saw the team I was thought Fergie was sure Veron would be 100%. In hindsight it was maybe expecting too much. But I liked the look of the lineup and shape before kick off.

becks has gotta be pissed off - on the bench for pool, arsenal and madrid...and in carlos' pockey IMO in the first madrid game....i would be sad to see him leave but if either he or AF aren't committed to getting along and his staying...well than it would be sad to lose him cos he really loves the club......who to buy if he goes - VIEIRA!!!!!!! gooners need cash to build satdium....and Mr. A. Whinger says he'll leave arsenal if the stadium doesn't come true....after that Queresma sounds good allright but I am a massive Damien Duff fan.....he can do anything and would blossom at O.T.

I've only seen Quaresma play 3 times, but he was absolutely shit hot in all of them - twice on the left wing and once on the right.

I used to be in favour of Duff coming to OT, but he just isn't in Quaresma's league.

We need three top class specialist wide players for competition for places. Giggs, and up until recently Beckham - haven't had any competition for a few years, which explains Giggs' poor form.

Assuming Beckham goes, with Quaresma and Kewell coming in - that would give us 3 genuine wingers, two of which can play either side, .. plus roughly £20M to spend elsewhere.

Lots of competition, lots of options, cover for injuries & suspensions, and IMO a stronger squad than we have at present.

BTW rumours on Red Issue that Kewell's agent was at OT last night, and a £6M deal is just about done.

Yeah, maybe I'm deluding myself but I think if Seba had been match fit for both legs, he could have made a difference. I was in Turin for the Juventus match and when I saw how he pulled all the strings in that match, I was thinking if this is how he played in Italy week-in, week-out, I could see why he's still adored by the Lazio fans.

I thought he did okay yesterday, but to be honest, I didn't think we really had the right to expect too much. After being out for that long, coming straight in against Real Madrid... Not the easiest of matches to make your comeback.

If he does come to United, just keep in mind who suggested that we go after Quaresma over 2 years ago ;)

Don't be so naive. Every player has a price.

Personally, I prefer Aimar, he's got a bit more steel, but Ronaldhino is also an excellent player.

If his performance in that septuple-stepover match was representative, then he is going to be an unbelievable player. Unfortunately I don't get to see Santos play that often... is he always that good?

Yeah. And he will be great when he gets fit again. But Quaresma was always my main suggestion.

I also got into a debate with loads of people on here regarding who would be better, Aimar or Riquelme. I believe I was the only one who defended Aimar and said he would be the better of the two.

So, no more doubting my scouting abilities. ;)

That's why I never have any money! And that's why it's such a shock to sit in the North/South Stand coming back from an away fixture. You go to an away match and if you're not prepared to stand for the whole match, don't bother going. And everybody sings and when United scores, you end up going crazy, hugging everyone around you...most of time people you don't even know. It's great! Also, it's nice because if you're female, the police are usually nice to you and don't hassle you the way some of the guys get hassled.

How did you find out about Quaresma two years ago? Was he playing for Sporting Lisbon then?

Well, yes, I know that! :) What I'm wondering is, if this story is true, it might be an indication as to whether or not Becks or Giggsy is leaving this summer. Can't imagine we'd buy him for him to sit on the bench. I assume he's got 2 good feet if he plays on both sides, but he must have a preference for either the right or left wing.

queresma seems naturally right footed but - think supercharged figo - he can be quite useful on the left too.
bit of a genius really. got me fingers crossed on this one. if becks does leave this might satisfy a few sweet teeth, especially if he settles and doesnt just show it in flashes for a coupple of years before being sold at twice the price.
if a player like this settled and blossommed

They were actually perfect gentlemen! I went with another woman and do you know how nice they were? We couldn't find a loo for the women in the visitor's end so one of the police officers actually personally escorted us to a loo in the Juventus end, waited for us, escorted us back to the visitor's end just to make sure we didn't get attacked! It was a bit weird, but really nice on their part.

I think he's a very good player......

But he ain't worth 40Million.

With that type of cash, we can buy some excellent players..

I'd want us to turn down 20odd million... but not 40odd.

Plus, I don't think he suits the type of style we're trying to achieve... Lets get Quaresma for starters, Ronaldhino, Kewell....and perhaps even Vieira later on.

at realistic prices and based on what i think rather than only hope. therefore not including a rejuvinated Diego Maradona comeback :

queresma - 10 mil
the ebony Girl's World - 15 mil
danny van buyton - 8 mil
escude - 5 mil

no good at maths of course. how much does that add up to now ?

I only get to see games in the copa... but every time I have seen him and diego they have looked on a different planet to the other players... that is not to say that the skill allways comes off to the same effect but they have skill to burn... if he could get a work permit for england robinio would electrify the premiership... his feet are quick... so quick even denilsons look slow... vert lightweight but sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo skillfill

I would sooner pay 20 million for robinio than 15 for ronaldinio any day... different class (and ronaldinios shit hot himself...)

Robinio amd adriano with ronaldo, diego behind them... scary for 2006

no ... but maybe we have just seen a player that would make any squad in the world stronger... lets face it you would have to be a twat to see him play and not want to sign him
