RIP Jim, an inspiration to all, not only in his final years, but also to be the first - and only - foreign born player to win the greatest personal accolade in AFL. The world is for the worse by the passing of this great man.

NOT letting it slip!
Yeah. A gentleman. He displayed such dignity in dealing with his cancer. Hugely respected on both sides of the world and will be mourned by the GAA and the AFL alike.

R.I.P Jim Stynes! What a legend...an Irishman who was 3 times Victorian of the year, once Melbournian of the year AND the only non-Ozzie to win a Brownlow medal!! Australia, you were lucky to have him!

A great person,a great role model and an inspiration. Not only did he pave the way for people from Ireland to try there hand at AFL, he founded an organization called REACH which has helped over 500,000 thousand young troubled people. RIP Jim Stynes.
