Ralf Rangnick | ex-interim manager | does anyone rate him?

Gonna miss him when he's not doing press conferences and interviews anymore , his candor is a throwback to LVG.

Been good to have someone at the club willing to not sugar coat anything and point things out without any interest in being PR friendly

Yeah, I was buying his "honesty" for some time, but he is also in self-preservation mode imo. Borderline Jose territory.

It means what it says and before you cry no it doesn't mean black culture. Fred is black and he is a workhorse, so is Elanga. It means spoilt, lazy, overpaid, bling, instagram, hiphip video, dancing, dabbing, money focused culture. Get it now?
Crazy that most if not all successful rappers work incredibly hard. Why does ‘hip hop’ mean spoilt, lazy and overpaid?

Football doesn't work like this though.
That’s convenient. Can’t wait until Rangnick gone then and we become one of the best teams in the country overnight. All we’re missing is someone who can actually tell the players how to pass in little triangles and run more.

He doesn’t have to self preserve, he already has another job. Mourinho was staring down the barrel and looking at never working at elite clubs again. I don’t think Ralf is worried about any of that.

It's well known that the man has quite a big ego and likes to preach about football and his knowledge about it. It wouldn't be strange at all if he is trying to wash his hands a bit.

Rangnick is doing the lords work in exposing these lot.
Said it before and I’ll say it again. No other top club in the world has players that are happy to down tools and get hammered 4-0 because they know their careers at this level would be damaged irreversibly.

When the Bayern players thought Ancelotti’s training methods weren’t intense enough, they put on secret training sessions behind his back when he told them to rest. Our lot run to the press and tell everyone how horrible the dressing room is and how mean Ralf is being to them.

Would you want to be associated with players who have no pride in their own performances? They’re not professionals, they’re kids who don’t like their teacher. I don’t even want to be associated with them and I don’t work for the club.

Pretty much what 'Ole inners' were saying at the end of his tenure, but were told In no uncertain terms that the coaching and management is awful and a decent coach would get so much more out of this squad. Apparently the god father of gen gen press is actually a lot worse coach than Ole.

He has not done a good job for sure. But anyone who has seen his teams play would not identify this United as a Ralf Rangnick team.

Do you recall grant as manager of chelsea ? He was basically a figurehead, the players took it upon themselves to perform and nearly clinched the cl.

the coaching was shit.
Then we got someone worse

Ole was shite, unfortunately Ralf is too.

Jose was right. Ralf is right.

Jesse Lingard posting pics of himself in a West Ham kit while playing for us the leaking the squad morale is low...Pogba leaving for Dubai (again) for convalescence...Maguire boasting his team selection as an excuse for poor performances...the list goes on and yet there are still fans under some delusion that pointing fingers at the unprofessional check-collectors is somehow wrong.

Near a decade of player power. Used to think it was all Woodwards fault for building that culture with his texting habits and all that but really, some of the fans should take a hard look at themselves and get over the denial and bias against these "outsiders" judging their oh so dear players. Rotten from the core.

Exactly, they had pride in their performances and were willing to work for each other. They even did it for Di Matteo also.

is he a clown that honestly thinks playing these old farts who are leaving is doing us any good, or he is just a stooge sitting on the bench as a figurehead. His comments make me think the latter but I don't know.

The professional thing to do would be also to keep a lot of this things inside the club, especially if you will be highly influential after.

Going fully open to the press might indicate that his role would be quite marginal and that he doesn’t want to be associated with the results or take any responsibility for his stint as a coach. Personally, am a bit sceptical when it comes to people who are avoiding to take much or any responsibility in a collective failure.

I think he gave up trying to get anything out of the season when the board refused to back him with players in January and now he just plays whatever shit he can be bothered to prove a point to everyone.

This group have been grossly mismanaged for years and the end result is what we're seeing now. There's actually some good players at the club, but this supposed 'cultural reset' that Ole is responsible for, has been absolutely fecking toxic. In hindsight, Jose certainly made some relevant points, but they were mixed in with a load of toxic bullshit, unfortunately.

You can't coach a donkey to be a horse.
Kovac: "You can't drive 200 km/h with a car that can only go 100", is what he said with regards to his Bayern squad and the demand to play better football.

Then he got sacked and the squad won the sextuple.

He said himself he’s not happy with how the 6 months have gone from a personal perspective, and to be fair to him, he’s only come forth with things that have happened previously when he’s been pushed on it and he’s refused to lie to cover someone else.

For example, the Lingard thing. He only responded because lingard and his brother made a big deal out of it.

The recruitment issue, he’s only spoke on that when he’s been asked what players United need to be better. He could have dropped a bunch of bombs at the end of January if he really wanted to rock the boat.

All the other issues are generally responses to our players leaking shit in the first place, which is why it’s generally been fair game

I thought you were talking about Ole until I scrolled up and saw your comments context. Haha

We still need to avoid that conference league

Can’t United just say he’s left early for Austria and taken Kurt Angle with him. Then let ETH have the last match? Or even Ronaldo as player manager

Jose was right. Ralf is right.

That's why one is now working for mediocre Serie A side and one will be heading for Austria.

The players are a disgrace, but our managerial choices were abject failures as well. That's how you hit rock bottom after spending so much money.

Sick of blaming managers. It’s the players and has been for a good while

Important to remember. Moyes now looking good at West Ham and LVG was basically retired before taking over a struggling Netherlands. Our managerial choices have been just as bad, if not worse than our transfers. Not one manager we signed has gone on to 'prove' us wrong as a manager elsewhere.

Pardon my phrasing - You're perspective is too personal. You're looking at it as these two guys who weren't fit to manage the club and wondering why their opinions should matter.

But for me, it's that several managers have come in that were not of the level of say the most contemporary best - say Pep and Klopp - and EVEN THEY picked out issues with the squad. But despite the common thread of all these managers saying the players weren't good enough or trying (Ole included til he shut his trap and played the puppet) is the CEO and leadership.

Said it in another comment just now, players managers all symptoms of the core rotten issue.

Green & Gold

Agree with that. Would put them as cherry on top of the shitshow.

The most vital aspect of Rangnick's appointment was always the consultancy. His administration. His influence on consulting with regards to helping the internal structure of the club move forward.

His coaching and managerial interim period has indeed been very poor, but that is short-term. If a six month period is the most pressing issue to you, right now, then you're paying heed to the symptoms and not the cause.

How he performs in the major role he was intended to occupy moving forward, alongside Erik and Murtaugh, will be the true determination of whether Ralf is a good fit or not.

The consultancy role can easily be as Interim as his manager position

In what world can a few days a month consultancy (at best) be described as a 'major role'.

Shocking management from him this season.

I'm pretty he hates most of the players and they feel the same about him.

It's like a Jose-type season.

Watch him play the same team again. Play the kids you bastard.
Seriously, what has he got to lose? It will literally be one game. And I don't even need a lot of kids to play. Give Hannibal a chance. That's like the bare minimum.
