He annoys me so much with this- always does this & shoots from all angles & is always terrible.

So frustrating - he thinks he’s world class now & he’s nowhere near that level yet

We have Pogba, someone who has proven he can pass the ball brilliantly yet we indulge this twat with this 40 yard bullshit.

A strong manager or captain would've have dragged him off free-kicks a year ago.

The whole technique is arrogant as feck. "I'm going to hit this ball in a completely random way and hope for the best" vs someone else with actually thought behind their attempt.

Rashford has always come across as grounded but it’s become obvious he Thinks he’s better than he is. I’d rather have Troy deeney as striker than him at this point.

Ronaldo PlayStation mentality. He does it because he will nail one or two out of forty in training and banter with the lads that he can bang.

We've a long history of this.

Rashford is just another Ronaldo or Nani. Players who are fecking awful at free kicks, but have "the technique" and for some reason no one else has the spine to take the ball off them.

But then we're the same club who have Shaw and Jones on corners so what the feck would anyone expect.

Pretty fecking shite at them is my brief summary.

He gets fortunate sometimes and the keeper makes a gaffe but that’s the height of it for the most part unless I’m forgetting some previous screamer into the top corner.

I never get the ridiculous over-hyping of Rashford by the commentators, he is standing over a free kick so long and commentator is going on about how Rashford's technique is like Ronaldo's.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who hates this. The best you can hope for is it’s on target but it’s straight down the keepers throat so to speak, and hoping that the keeper spills it.

Even Ronaldo struggles with the Ronaldo technique.

I don't know why "Rashy" is even trying to copy it.
Because no one in management has told him to cut that bullshit out. If he was successful with it, no worries, but he sure isn’t.

I love Rashford, I want him to reach his potential but it’s not just his free kicks, it’s his whole game right now.

There’s no doubt he has the tools to be a top player but I wonder if, in his head, he thinks he is already one.

Time for Ole to sit him down for a chat, maybe show him some videos of his play and free kicks, clear dose of reality needed here.

Absolutely awful free kick taker and his insistence in taking them. Young should say no.
In fact since PSG penalty he thinks hes better than he is. The best thing that could happen to him is to be benched. This wont happen now though as there isnt enough games left, but if say it was mid season a 2-3 game miss might bring his inflated ego back down to earth. We wouldnt be missing his goals would we :D

If I remember correctly young scores a free kick v watford a few years back if not 2? I’d prefer him taking them than Rashford.

Hmm can't remember any of them. Did he smash them like that or try and place them?

Biggest problem is that there’s nobody who is good at them, don’t think Pogba has scored one for us, Mata is ok but hardly ever plays. Maybe Young might be the best of a bad bunch

No worries
He scored one against Benfica away too, but only because the keeper bundled it over the line.

I don't mind the direct free kicks because it's pretty rare anyone will score and if he does happen to catch one correctly, it will be a chance of going in.

But him taking corners and crossing free kicks into the box is like a running gag. He is absolutely woeful at them, wastes multiple good positions and is still on them for the next one. It reminds me of Phil Jones on corners. You think someone at the club has to notice how bad they are but it doesn't seem to matter.

Our free kicks are supposed to be an advantage to us, but teams can foul us knowing they'll just get the ball back so they know they cam just foul us with impunity.

Isn't Andreas a specialist? I know he never plays but I'm sure we had a few free kicks with him on the pitch recently and the punter took it instead, its infuriating.

Yeah, Pereira isnt bad, he can take a good freekick and cross. But Rashford is the 'star' now

he's shite at them - he's also been extremely selfish this season, needs a reality check.

When Andreas plays why don't he take corners and free kick? He is proven as a set piece expert .

This was apparently done last week (along with chats with Martial, Pogba, & a couple others), OGS sat down with them individually to offer a reality check to each.
