He might be available for selection. But that doesn't mean he'll play. Let's see what actually happens before everyone has a fit.

Disciplined and available for selection for the next game which is Wolves away.

How familiar sounding

Honestly I've never been a fan. He had a good couple of months under Moyes before his leg break. And more recently he's been better defensively over the past couple of seasons where he's now bothered enough to defend the back post.

But it's not enough for me when you compare him to Irwin or Evra for effort, intensity and quality. We should aim high.

Absolutely shambolic that he can return like this. Get Mason back so we can finally have someone who deserves to wear the shirt back in

Clearly runs the club. Can do whatever he wants and has no fear of any consequences.

That is absolutely pathetic, is it that easy to get away with blatant breaches of discipline.

Joke of a club.
Well to be fair that's what's been put out there by the club, we don't know what's actually been said to Rashford by ETH and the higher ups of the club, for all we know he's been told we're selling you in the summer but we're not going to put that out there right now. Who knows?

To the people who are complaining about the clubs response and demanding "stronger" action and the need for "an example to be made". Some of you lot need to get a grip and clearly don't live in the real world.

He's "took responsibility" for it. He's apologised and all parties have moved on. This is how issues should be hashed out. No need to make an even bigger deal out of the situation and give even more reason to the media to run with it.

Do transfer requests even exist anymore? Which player has given one recently? They leave too much on the table by doing that.

Acting like a stroppy cnut is much more financially prudent.

Bang average and highly overrated player, sorry, but he is. His career has followed a pattern of two or three good games followed by ten anonymous ones. Apart from one consistent season in 22/23 he's averaged less than 10 goals a season across all league, domestic cups and European games in 9 years. Rashford is a striker who has never scored 20 goals in a season in the league. And this is his 9th season. Most strikers of that calibre in other clubs are on 35K per week not 350K as this prima donna is on. Hes scored more in nightclubs than he has all this season. The type of player that belongs in a mid-table team and hes taking the piss now. Need to get rid of him.
Agreed. The guy is really not worth the hassle, a decent back up option at best at any club that's seriously competing in the upper echelons.

With the transfer business the club has done over the years and the fact that our back up striker is still Antony Martial means we can't really afford to be too harsh on him just now. He was hardly likely to be banished to the reserves like Sancho who had zero credit in the bank and had several other players that could play in his position.

I hope the new club structure remembers this though if it happens again. We had that horrible season with Rashford under Ole/Ralf where he scored just five goals and looked thoroughly miserable everytime he stepped on the pitch. He's now repeating something similar this season after a great year last year and a new contract . Not good signs.

Aside from his professionalism I do think the fanbase and the club probably need to be a lot more realistic in what we expect of Rashford too. He's a Raheem Sterling level player (who was bloody good for City and England at times by the way) but we want/expect him to reach Salah, Henry levels and that's never going to happen. Even at his very best he's just not that level and it pisses people off on here i've noticed.

Since he was 20, he averages 28 GA per season, despite having one season where he only got 7 after coming back from an operation, mainly from left wing. It really is ludicrous to include seasons when he was 17/18 to try and make a bad point.

Honestly, it’s fine not to like his attitude on the pitch, not like the clothes he wears or think he earns too much money. However, the absolute drivel that gets posted on here about his footballing ability is incredible to behold.

We don't know what level of discipline there has been, nothing suggests he got away with it.

What did you want? Erik to parade him through the streets on Manchester so the fans can shout shame and throw tomatoes at him or something.

Its done and been resolved, thats a good thing. We didn't need more drawn out drama.

I should imagine he is on his last chance, or behind the scenes has already past it - thats a problem for the summer, not now.

What the feck are people moaning about? He’s been disciplined which probably means a fine, he has apologised and the issue has been dealt with. Move on to the next match. Some people want him parading through the streets of Manchester shouting shame shame shame. Suppose it highlights the people with personal grudges against Rashford rather than issues around his performance alone.

There’s people on here who won’t be happy unless that’s what exactly happens. They want him hung, drawn and quartered.

Hopefully he can play well and put the matter behind him for this season. We should be quietly looking to move him on in future windows though, kind of like Sir Alex with Beckham. The time has come where we should be replacing him, probably for both his and our sake. But that doesn't mean that he can't be good until the end of the season.

For what it's worth, I think this has been handled just fine by the club. What he did was out of order, he has been disciplined (probably a fine) and apologised. I'm not sure there's much else to do. Even when he's out of form, he's our best option on the left. However, I do hope he's on his final chance. His attitude has been woeful for long and so have his performances. Someone needs to tell him, "this is your last chance to get your act together and be the best player you can be - if you don't, you'll be shown the door".

Agreed, dropping him into the Sancho abyss is just cutting off our nose to spite our face.

Only sensible outcome for all parties for the rest of the season. We're in no position to jettison one of our few remaining attacking options, and a lengthy disciplinary issue wouldn't reflect well on Rashford.

So, short term, they have to work together and see out the season. Long term, something has got to be sorted in the summer. His on field body language and performances, and off field antics, suggests either there's a personal / professional issue with Rashford, or there's an issue between him and ETH / the club.

if it's solvable then, fine, address it and hopefully he delivers one of his occasional top quality seasons next year. If it's got to the point where it's not solvable here, then the summers the time for both parties to look for an out.

But, for now, it's good for all concerned if they can reach an understanding that at least gets us through the rest of the season with all sides having some kind of an alliance.

I suspect this is less an issue of letting the player get away with it and more along the lines of moving on from it ASAP, letting the player get back out on the pitch and hopefully prove himself, and then shipping his worthless ass off just as soon as he builds up any sort of equity and interest.

I'll say it again. Rashford is mentally weak and not the type of player we need around if we're looking to right the ship.

This. And the rose tinted specs brigade are out on force too. This sort of stuff has always gone on.
