That's true. Some great players will be questionable people off of the pitch, but if they are professional and consistently performing at the desired level year after year, then I don't think it makes much of a difference. High performing playboys (or worse) can exist in a squad whose nucleus is built around grounded professionals with their heads screwed on. This squad lacks so much of what it takes to be at the highest level. Man Utd's greatest successes have come with dressing rooms full of strong characters. Now the club's full of players who can't string sentences together and are explicitly lazy performers. God knows what they get up to when the cameras aren't rolling. The squad lacks in absolutely every facet required. Rubbish. The biggest issue with Rashford is that he's a consistent starter and an example for other players. When players look over at him, they're not going to feel like they need to raise their level to what's required.
