I noticed they signed Zivkovic on loan in January. Wilder must fancy his chances at getting the best of former hotly tipped prospects. Fairly low risk approach and one that could eventually pay off.
Well that move to Sheffield didn't last long.
No idea, was watching the Sheffield game and wondering why he hadn't been making the bench, so looked him up and saw he was starting for Middlesborough.
Imagine how great Best, Ozil, Romario, Ronaldhino would have been if they fully applied themselves to the sport. Imagine if they had the dedication of Ronaldo and determination of Messi. Best and Ronaldhino would be in that argument for top five/six of all-time IMO had the former not drank himself to death and the latter carried that world class form from 02-06 another half decade or more.
its crazy to think but you are right. I cannot understand how people can be one of the greatest in the world but skip training, party or not apply themselves in training. Polar opposite to the basketball stars who shoot 1500 jump shots every day. Imagine Le Tissier if he came through now. He would be much fitter and better managed.
So sickening that players like that couldn’t be arsed, most footballers would do anything to to have their abililty.
If it was a one off game I’d still pick Best and Dinho over Ronaldo and Messi, unreal talents.

Midfielder Ravel Morrison has ended his loan spell at Middlesbrough after boss Neil Warnock told him he was no longer required at the Riverside.
Morrison, 27, was signed until the end of the season from Sheffield United in January by Warnock's predecessor Jonathan Woodgate.
However, he played just three games and was left out of the squad for last weekend's defeat by Cardiff City.
"I don't think I'd use Ravel again this season," said Warnock.
"So I told him as far as I was concerned I thanked him for what he's done since I've been here and then let him go."
Morrison has had a nomadic career, with Boro his 11th club since breaking into Manchester United's first team in 2010.
He's surely going to run out of managers willing to give him a chance pretty soon

I think it's simpler than that. His level is probably not up to the clubs he ends up at.
Some other random club will give him a chance and you'll still get people saying this could be the move to restart his career.. could be a good move.. there's still time etc.

Come on there's a reason he's not being picked to play anywhere he goes and it's well beyond the point with him where you expect him to be successful (in relative terms), while he's a professional footballer the bare minimum anyone 'expects' is that he actually plays the odd game here and there
I can imagine it may be a tricky one for managers with a limited budget to call. Oh this lad is free and might still be very good if he can get fit and knuckle down. So he gets fit and still isn’t up to the required standard. He’s missed a decent amount of football and development over the years. I guess It wouldn’t be that surprising that he’s just not advanced enough at his age to ever get a longer deal.

Personally I think he gets moves based on his reputation, then once he gets there everyone sees hes just not good enough.
Alternatively, maybe the ego within the managers wins out because they want to be the one that finally got a tune out of Ravel Morrison.

I see what you're saying though and yeah at the lower levels clubs do need to take punts on players just hard to fathom how he's not been good enough for any of the clubs he's played for in recent years

Wilder seems like a good manager who gets the most out of limited resources. I feel like If there was anything there left to salvage with Ravel he’d still be there.
