We can buy him and still focus on PL quality. Mateta or Wissa, Cunha, Cherki, Wharton or whatever it is could have worked too.

In my views if we arent getting him we better get Mbuemo.

Surprised they’re after him. He drifts in and out of games as he did in both games versus us and he’s a bit passive off the ball.
Seems more a luxury player…
Be interesting to see him utilised in Peps system.
Reijnders is far more fitting of what Pep wants I think. More of an all round, instruction following machine type midfielder.
 
No too fussed, he seems to much of a maverick to fit into Pep's team imo, also the recruitment at City hasn't been amazing of late so it could easily go wrong for him and they will have Grealish 2.0.
 
People predictably underestimating him in here. At least it’s not as if we had a chance at signing him.

The concern regarding him was his health; he’s turned a massive corner since then.

A club like PSG don’t have to concern themselves with fallout for buys that don’t work out. We obviously do.

Eh people didn’t even want us to loan him in at the time from Barca.

I’m of the opinion at this point that United fans should be so starved of actual quality footballers that we should be open to all potential options under that category depending on the circumstance.

At that time Dembele was a bad idea. Very injury prone, and virtually no end product save for 6 months where he had a great spell and was top assist providers.

He turned a huge corner this season, especially since the beginning of the year 2025.

Let’s also not forget Dembele actually grew up not far from Paris so there’s that increased motivation to play for « his » club. He wouldn’t have had that extra motivation had he joined the shit show we are, in a city he has no link to.

There’s absolutely no assurance he would’ve produced the same had we signed him.

I am guessing a few will be on the market from the City team. My understanding is that he is more comfortable with a smallish squad and likes to pick from the main pool of 15-16 players.

That won't stop him from complaining about fixture congestion and it's effect on players health, though.
 
Well Grealish is going, De Bruyne has gone. B.Silva has been rumoured to leave for a few seasons. Foden had a below par season.

City are going to want to hit the transfer window hard after not coming close to competing with Liverpool. We saw the ambition in January with two massive signings.

City need a revamp. Likes of Ake, Akanji need addressing and Pep's comments about Nunes ability as a CM may question his place in the squad.

I'm still surprised by the Cherki links though - seems similar to Marmoush and Echeverri - whereas they are probably lacking more natural wide players. Doku/Savio are the only wingers really.

I don't think we've missed out here - haven't been any credible links for us and Cherki
 
Would have sold Bruno and him and Cunha could take over our #10 positions for the same price Bruno is rumored to be sold!
 
City seem to be signing boss players again. They have signed pure garbage for the last couple of years except maybe Savio.
