Stobzilla vs. Skizzo

Stobzilla

A slight deviation from what is normally expected. The biggest difference being that we now operate with a back 4. Ramos is still afforded the opportunity to move forward, but not in a way that negates his defensive responsibility. More like an Ivanovic at Chelsea, Wes Brown at United in the latter part of the 00's which provided a balance to the more attacking left back.

Seedorf provides his usual midfield running and joining the attack, Giles is more reserved and holding position which can then account for Alaba charging on. John Terry spent a career covering for Ashley Cole, defending his own space as well as any left is in his make up.

Djalminha will be encouraged to pull out to the right hand side and find pockets of space that might not be immediately occupied by the cutting in Claudio Lopez or more reserved Ramos. Kubala will be encouraged to cut in off of his wing and provide the finishing touches, linking with the Brazilian playmaker all the time.

Skizzo

Another tactical tweak as we use our creative and deadly front three to link up and terrorize the opposition defense without Baresi. The midfield offers a solid base, and two box to box generals in Coluna and Souness will look to wrestle control of the game. Cole and Maicon working the flanks with great cover from the midfield and the center backs.

2' Both teams started this game with big problems and arguably their best men sidelined in Baresi and Maradona. Stobzilla's team looks lively from the off trying to dominate the midfield and exploit whatever gaps they can find in the opposition defence.

7' Djalminha weaves a bit of magic around De Rossi and finds Kubala just on the edge of the box. Kubala powers forward and shoots millimeters away from the post.

11' Skizzo's team looks more composed in the last few minutes and created few chances through Rush and Dalglish. First the Liverpool pair combined with a one two and the latter has his shot saved from Campos. Then in a following corner Rush got his head on the ball but his header went wide.

17' Another chance for Skizzo's team and this time it's 1-0. Souness wins one on one with Giles and creates advantage. He passes it to Dalglish who on the other hand puts Del Piero through on goal and the Juve man doesn't make a mistake. Great combination.

23' Seedorf tries from long range but his shot is tipped over by Trautmann.

31' The game evened out in the last minutes with the teams exchanging possession. Looks like Skizzo's team has the upper hand in the tie so far and the score suits the team.

40' Good combination between the three Liverpool men. This time it's Souness who receives the ball nodded down in the air from Rush and tries his luck but Campos turns it away. Maybe his parrot-like suit helped him out there.

53' Start of the second half and one of the rare occasions where team Stobzilla have an opportunity to bring it to level matters. Djalminha and Seedorf combine in the opposition half and it's Kubala again making himself available, dribbling around an opposition defender but his shot is saved by Trautmann.

66' Ciro Ferrara beats Lopez to a header and team Skizzo launch a counter. Maicon moves down the flank and receives. He runs into the opposition half and puts a beauty of a cross in the box. Rush meets it and it's in the back of the net. 2-0.

73' Skizzo's team look in control and try to calm down the match combining mostly in his own half and trying to retain possession as much as possible.

77' Lopez is fouled near the box. Djalminha lines up and takes the free kick. It's a good effort but just wide off the mark.

81' Ashley Cole charges forward and brings the ball near the touchline. He pulls it back with confused Ramos trying to chase it down. He has seen better days at right back and it certainly shows. Del Piero gets past him and de Boer who tries to cover and squares it to Dalglish who makes it 3-0.

84' Corner for team Stobzilla. Lopez takes it and swings it in to the far post. Terry goes up and beats Buchwald to the header. Off the bar. The ball bounces in the box and Kubala is the quickest to react. His low drive puts it in the net 3-1.

87' Looks like little too late for Stobzilla to get back into the game. They pile on the pressure but team Skizzo is looking composed at the back.

FT. Looks like team Skizzo was the better one in the particular day and fared better in replacing the main man in the team. 3-1.

My team will play a 4-2-3-1 formation looking to use Bochini's passing ability backed up by Bozsik to create chances for my front 3. Additionally my wingbacks will be looking to bring the aerial ability of both Spencer and Gullit into play

This game ends 2-1 with Chester winning

1. Both great defenses and midfields.
2. Attacks are almost par too.
3. Chester's team does seem to have more cohesiveness and balance across the pitch which grabs them the win.

Scorers

Boniek (Assist Albert) 1-0
Albert (Assist Edwards) 2-0
Spencer (Assist Gullit) 2-1

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
Nice. Misunderstood you to begin with and checked the weather for Cape Verde- I didn't think 28 degrees was particularly cool!
Temp gauge said 32 today, deceptive though. Feels lower as 350 miles from land (Africa) and gets trade winds.... seen people not putting sun tan lotion on - pink next day.

(8.20pm now. Temp gauge says 26.7)

West Coast is the Best Coast
Haven’t even had a chance to look at what’s going on for this weeks game. Won’t have a laptop for a while either. If someone wants to throw something together for me, they have full creative license :D otherwise I’ll take a forfeit in the interest of not delaying things

Attack with pace down the wings, plenty of industry and creativity from midfield and Kaka in final third combining with Sheva, no special instructions for players all in natural positions.

Swarm

4-2-3-1, two strong wingers cutting inside, finishing or supplying crosses for Kocsis to finish off. Roberto Carlos surging forward overlapping Czibor and Burgnich taking a more balanced approach while still supporting Robben in offense. Mazzola with free reign in offense is backed up by Alonso and Silva with the former having more responsibility on the ball. In the back Picchi opens up play while Schwarzenbeck stops any attempts of the opposition to score.

4' Looks like it will be a high intense game from the off. Both sides feature a 4-2-3-1 formation and it will be down to individual quality and also who will put a better tactical performance.

7' Robben weaves down the wing and wins the one on one with Carlos. He cuts in to his left and drives it to the top corner. Narrow miss.

11' Pirri launches a counter with Kaka finding some space up top. He beats Schwartzenbeck with pure pace and squares it to Sheva. Sheva makes no mistake left in clear position. 1-0 2mufc0.

14' Another good chance for 2mufc0. Whilst Swarm's team is looking to get back into the game it's Keizer this time who shows off his skills before passing it to Junior. A long ranger sees his shot saved by the keeper.

21' Roberto Carlos and Czibor combine on the left wing. Carlos swings it in and Kocsis heads it towards the goal in trademark fashion. The ball just clips the side nettings.

29' Carlos goes up again and receives from Xabi Alonso's long pass. He reaches the byline and slips it to Czibor. Czibor beats his man, enters the box and shoots in the near corner. 1-1. Some goal that.

38' Teams exchange possession and initiative in the last 10 minutes, neither seems to have the upper hand at the moment.

44' Some decent chances for both sides. Kaka lines up for a free kick, beats the wall but his shot is turned into a corner by the keeper. On the other end Kocsis again creates some trouble for the defence but his low drive is also saved by the keeper.

52' Mazzola and Silva combine in the center. Robben breaks through the lines and manages to control it in the box, with 2-3 touches he finds the top corner. 1-2 Swarm.

56' well that didn't last long. A beautiful combination between Keizer and Kaka bewilders the defence and Johnstone is left out wide on the right with Bonhof tucking in. He receives and immediately slips it to Bonhof who finds the net. 2-2.

62' last minutes sees couple of fouls and the pace is a bit slower than what we have seen so far.

67' Pirri tries his chance from distance but his shot is blocked and out for a corner. Johnstone swings it in and is met by Vierchowod. Just off the bar. Unlucky.

72' A long pass sees Kocsis being fouled near the box. Roberto Carlos lines up and his swerves it around the wall. 3-2 Swarm.

76' as the previous occasion this didn't last long. After long spell of possession for 2mufc0 Pirri finds the top corner just outside the box 3-3 with Kaka assisting it.

82' Cries for a penalty with Kaka being thrown off balance in the opposition box, but the ref has none of it.

86' Czibor swings it in from the wing and Kocsis tries a bicycle kick but is far from the target.

FT' Hugely entertaining game with little between the sides.

Michaelf vs. Sjor Bepo

Michaelf

My team will be playing a 4-2-3-1 counter attacking system looking to keep things tight on defense while making full use of Bochini to create opportunities for my front 3 to take advantage of my opponents injuries in defense.

Sjor Bepo

Tactics: Full Sjor
High press, possession heavy and relying on player talents rather then old, outdated use of positional familiarity. In possession Scholesy is dictating the game from the very deep position so we can create space in behind for Blokhin and Kalle to exploit. Best swedish striker of all time again used as goal-scoring machine and the glue of attack. Tostao removed deeper then usual but his workrate matches his task defensive wise and there wont be an issue in possession, master of the ball, selfless character and his moving of the ball is tier 1 on the all-time list.
Essien and Benarrivo bombing up and down, would mostly be used without the ball so their engine is their biggest strength here. Katanec in his natural position and Varane that would be at home in the system if you can this shit like that. Good on the ball and immense athletically as well as being a great defender.
Without possession Scholes moves into a DM role, Benarrivo and Essien form a back 4 while the whole team press high on the pitch.

3' Looks like a tough game for team Sjor with many injuries in the side that makes it a makeshift defence.

7' Right off the bat some good opportunity for Michael's team with Joya and Spence combining. Spencer passes it back to Bochini but his shot is saved by the keeper.

11' Despite the wonky formation team Sjor creates some confusion in the opposition midfield and defence. A late run bu Scholes sees his shot flying narrowly near the top corner.

18' Looks like team michael has the control though. Rijkaard and Ocwirk keep things steady.

23' Good chance for Larsson. Blokhin creates some space on the left and finds Larsson in the box. His shot is however saved by the keeper.

32' Joya beats Essien on the wing and floats it in the box. Gullit goes strong and beats 2 defenders to the ball to nod it home. 1-0 Michael.

39' Iniesta and Tostao with couple of chances, saved by Mazurkiewicz who has had a good game so far.

44' Another chance created by Gullit but Spencer couldn't get a foot on his pass in the box.

49' Iniesta beats Ocwirk and turns the onrushing Gentile. His shot is deflected by Rijkaard and see him narrowly miss the target.

50' Rummenigge manages to get hold of the rebound from the corner but couldn't quite direct the ball and it flies into a goal kick.

54' Tostao drops deeper to start a counter and finds Rummenigge on the side. He goes up and beats Andrade. Squares it back to Tostao but it's again Mazurkiewicz with the save.

59' Rijkaard takes the loose ball and passes it to Bochini. Gullit makes a move and receives. He then sees Spencer looking for position in the box. Holds up then passes it through defender's legs. Spencer leans on the side and lashes a hard shot in the top left corner. 2-0.

67' The match seems more relaxed at this stage with Michael having the advantage in the score and in midfield.

74' Scholes again tries his luck from distance but to no avail.

81' Another good opportunity for team Sjor. Blokhin cuts in and finds Tostao. Tostao shows some magic near the box and shoots hard and low. The ball bounces off the woodwork.

88' Bochini pulls the string in the middle without an opposition DM to trouble him and tests the keeper from distance. His shot misses the target.

FT 2-0 to Michaelf
