Succession, Breaking Bad, Sopranos, Band of Brothers and ?Also just setup groups 3 & 4 and oh my... Group 4 is a real group of death with 5 absolute bangers
Haha don't be crazy. It's not that level. But they're all really good shows and will be difficult to pick between them. One of my favourites is in it.Succession, Breaking Bad, Sopranos, Band of Brothers and ?
I've no idea if listing all shows actually helps or hurts my top picks but hopefully it helpsNoted. Thanks bud.
@Dirty SchweinThem fighting words.
Group 1:
1. South Park
2. Dark
3. The Shield
Group 2:
1. The X-Files
2. The Wire
3. Better Call Saul
4. Parks and Recreation
Thanks mate. As for the bolded, I'm a masochist.@Dirty Schwein
My updated list is below, as the rules have changed. The original list is above if that helps. Cheers.
I don't envy you having to work this all out and people bitching about the rules
Group 1:
1. South Park
2. Dark
3. The Shield
4. The Americans (haven't seen it)
5. Star Trek
Group 2:
1. The X-Files
2. The Wire
3. Better Call Saul
4. Parks and Recreation
5. Chernobyl (haven't seen it)
Doesn't that mean your number 1 only gets 3pts instead of 5 as per your rules?Group 1:
1. South Park
2. The Shield
3. Dark
Group 2:
1. Chernobyl
2. The Wire
3. X-Files
*only voted for the shows where I have at least seen a full season to not tamper the end results.
Exactly.Doesn't that mean your number 1 only gets 3pts instead of 5 as per your rules?
It doesn't do that. If my top show gets 3 points and shows 4&5 get nothing, it is +3 on both.So you have to arbitrarily rank shows you haven't seen or your vote counts for less than other people's?
Not expecting a perfect system by any means, but that's mental.
Makes very little sense that. I'll leave in the shows I haven't watched so. Number 1 on everyone's list should surely get the same number of points?Exactly.
Ohhhhhhhhhh I see. I feel a little bit stupidIt doesn't do that. If my top show gets 3 points and shows 4&5 get nothing, it is +3 on both.
If I list all 5 shows, my top gets 5 points with 4th on 2 and 5th on 1 so my top show would be +3 & +4.
It basically works out quite even. Not perfect but the best we can come up with.
It's too combat tactical voting where someone might just come in and vote 1 show. I'm sure some people are still voting tactically but at least it limits it somewhat. No way to completely eradicate it though.Ohhhhhhhhhh I see. I feel a little bit stupid
Ah, I thought the system was that all shows you don't vote for get 2 points. Fair enough! It doesn't do that. If my top show gets 3 points and shows 4&5 get nothing, it is +3 on both.
If I list all 5 shows, my top gets 5 points with 4th on 2 and 5th on 1 so my top show would be +3 & +4.

This is exactly how the American Electoral College system started.
It had a couple of votesWell I feckin forgot about Trailer Park Boys. I'm assuming you all did too. An egregious oversight.
It's even within your own vote but not even overall. It doesn't do that. If my top show gets 3 points and shows 4&5 get nothing, it is +3 on both.
If I list all 5 shows, my top gets 5 points with 4th on 2 and 5th on 1 so my top show would be +3 & +4.

5 people vote this:It's even within your own vote but not even overall.
For instance 5 people vote South Park no.1 and only list 3 shows then South Park gets 15 total points. 5 people vote Star Trek no 1 and list 5 shows and Star Trek gets 25 points. 10 point difference despite each show getting 5 first place votes.
Feels like that means you have to vote for all five shows even if you haven't seen them to get your first show full points which could make a difference. Maybe I'm missing something though
