doesnt matter. Some words on here should not be used to describe posters or players/managers. We are in a tricky situation, you run the risk of a lot of members, non members and mods not liking it. Sarcasm has limits as well
If he deserved to be banned for that post, then a lot of posters must be flying pretty close to the Sun too. Some of the things I've seen said about Ole and others is unbelievable.

I also agree Ban was being sarcastic. If you have ever read his posts you can sense his frustration with posters who go over board in their critiscm of our players or manager.

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
Then nope.

"FFS we allowed an English international RB walk on free because Sir Alex believed that Gaz was ready."

Parker left in 96 and was injured for almost all of the two seasons before that and played maybe a handful of games? so was allowed to run his contract down/leave. Neville was already established but Parker's injuries were reason (as showed in his career after us).

He was hardly an England player either... lost his place to Dixon a years before leaving us and doubt he played more than a couple of internationals after 90/91.

Ok that was a mistake. I was pretty young at the time. Some things I do remember, others don't

Maybe bad example considering that poster is banned permanently.

I agree with the initial post, @Ban post was sarcastic but he does it all the time. Maybe this is just a warning sign to stop doing it.
So now the caf mods think it’s a greater offense to be sarcastic than downright abusive? That quote was just one of many on here that are abusive towards ole. Anyway the mods decision is their right.

How do you know?
Listen, you don’t know unless you’re ban or a relation of theirs.
No need to be related to him to see his post history and know that he has never had a hostile attitude towards ole.

P.s: Last post about this on here as I don’t want to derail this thread.

You don't want to go down this road. It just so happens it's something I'm pretty well versed on. And two, unless you're also agreeing on the notion that plant based diet, with fat and protein from whole foods is the ideal nutrition for athletes, we're going to but heads. And your skull will be crushed, your existing appreciation for what an athlete 'should eat' disintegrated and if you're a fella open minded to robust science and changing his mind, maybe reborn like the Phoenix.

Bah. Feck it. Here's a few places for you to start. Once you've read and understood these appetizers we can look at Lukaku's eating and consider whether he is off the mark:

Fisher I. The influence of flesh eating on endurance. Yale Medical Journal. 1907; 5: 205-221

And here's a special one that I love: Roman Gladiators were practically vegan eating barley and beans! How cool is that?!
Longo UG, Spiezia F, Mauffulli N, Denaro. The best athletes in Ancient Rome were vegetarian! J Sports Sci Med. 2008; 7(4):565
@Prometheus Since you were asking, I referenced this to a poster a while back. There's actually a lot of science behind the improvement in athletic performance and recovery from going plant based.

That's beyond the anecdotal evidence from NBA all stars like Kyrie Irving, NFL players like Titans Derrick Morgan, tennis #1 Novak Djokovic, Formula 1 #1 Lewis Hamilton, Carl Lewis, among others.

More power to him. Any half decent player of ours leaving this dishevelled system we have in place here tends to pick themselves up. Chris Smalling is one of the better CBs in the league and only Immobile has more goals than Lukaku.

9 goals in 10 league starts for his new club. Excellent figures there by Romelu. Should comfortably hit 20 league goals in his 1st season. Meanwhile, at United....

He wasn't that bad at United in the first place. He will score tons of goals at Inter.

The nightmare scenario is to play them in the EL. We know we'd lose from them.

Management folks who agreed to sell him and not replace him should leave United. They have no idea what they are doing.

When we finish the season with fewer GF than some midtable clubs, you might change your opinion. He was good against weaker teams, we are struggling to beat such teams now.

Btw, it's a bit daft to think he was bad. Average to an extent maybe, especially in big games, bad No. He scored 40 goals over 2 seasons. That's not bad.

The arrogance some of our fans have is astounding. He was no prime striker but he still was the best goal scorer we had. Our fans were too busy making fun of him and acting as if other players we had were better. Truth is I would have taken his goals against the bottom half teams.

At least we're seeing all the chances that were previously ruined by his poor first touch. That's the most important thing to take away

He was not good for Utd end of. There was a moment in today's game when inter had a great counter, ball comes to Lukaku and u can guess how it ended.

I'm honestly happy he's doing good since I never bought that "he was shit for us" nonsense in the first place. he was as good as he could be with such a little service, weather we like this type of striker or not. first mistake was thinking a striker playing for current United should score much more, but second and even worse mistake was selling him and thinking those goals will simply come from our other players. wouldn't be surprised if he scores as much as Rash and Martial combined in the end. 20-25 goals is realistic at the moment.

He was good in his first season for United, scoring 27 in all competitions. Last season wasnt good. We get it, you hate him. But take the blinkers off. The guy scores 2 goals away from home to win the game for his team, yet you still find something to complain about. What are Uniteds strikes up to these days?

Its obviously frustrating seeing him scores for Inter, but he clearly wasn't the right fit for the way you want to play.

Your main problem at the moment is that your three best attacking players are too young and inconsistent to hold down a place at a top club. If Liverpool had Mane, Salah and Firmino as their front three 5 or 6 years ago when they were about the same age as your current three now, Liverpool probably would have the exact problems that you are having.

You need to go out and sign a quick mobile attacker who's about 26/27 and has proven that they can consistently play at a high level.

And whats happening to all these chances? Why arent they being scored, seeing as United now have better strikers than Lukaku?

I dont get the logic here. What does our current struggles have to do with him being a bad player? His second season was shite.

Would you pay 75m to sign him again?

Lukaku must be loving how utterly shit we are since he’s left.
He forced a move because he could see how clueless Ole is - nothing to do with being dropped. Why stay and let your value and worth drop with every passing game. Pretty much why Pogba will force a move too.

Lukaku is a goal scorer and will always score goals wherever he goes. On top of that he is a PL-proven goal scorer. He may have a bad first touch but his goal scoring track record makes up for it IMO. And btw, fans these days expect every footballer to have perfect touches every single time the ball goes to them, that is not what football is. You try and try again when things don’t work out.

Sure, he is not the best striker in the world, but he is a very good and proven goal scorer.

I still don't get some posters, he planned to leave for Serie A the moment he changed his agent, he and his agent communicated about it months before the season was finished, he wanted to leave and left. The way some are talking about him, you would swear that he wasn't the instigator of the move and was pushed out of the club.

We sold our best striker who has scored goals everywhere he has been and didn't replace him. He is going to score 30 goals or so and we are struggling to score consistently, I'm not sure how anyone could be surprised at either development.

I'm not against selling Lukaku, not replacing him was ridiculous. How is Ben Yeddar getting on at Monaco again?

Agree, but that also meant the club had plenty of time to get someone in as they knew he would be gone.

There was another moment when he received the ball on the right wing around the hour mark in Inter's game against Brescia, guess what happened?
