What about last season when we finished 6th and Lukaku was unfit and shite ?He was not a failure when we finished 2nd.
Would even you admit Lukaku was a failure last season?

He was hardly a success eitherHe was not a failure when we finished 2nd.
Yes but the team was a failure. What about last season when we finished 6th and Lukaku was unfit and shite ?

One of the main reasons the team failed was because we had an out of shape lump up front who could barely move.Yes but the team was a failure.
Four goals in three friendly games so far are impressive stats alone, but it is the stronger, slimmer figure he possesses which is sparking belief among his team-mates that he is ready to make the grade at Stamford Bridge.
That certainly was not the case when he joined up with Torres and the rest of the Chelsea players for the first time a couple of years ago following his £18m transfer from Anderlecht.
Then manager Andre Villas-Boas was not impressed with his chunky frame or his touch and he spent much of the campaign in the reserves, eventually making his first League start in the final League game of the season under Roberto Di Matteo.
In an interview on Belgium TV earlier this summer, he said: “For an entire year at Chelsea I weighed 101 KG. My chest was muscles with fat underneath. Now it’s just muscle.
“They (Chelsea) told me (about my weight in the first year), but I barely played. I played once every two months in a manner of speaking. I always gained a little weight and then they said ‘Romelu have three days off’.
“I thought to myself ‘I’m going back to Brussels’. I live there in Molenbeek – my parents live there. On the other side of the road was a pita bar, tasty!
Damned by his own words.“I got a salad diet and other things. I have lots of water daily now, no soft drinks any more. It has paid off. I weighed 101kg and 10 per cent was fat and now I weigh 96kg with six per cent fat.”
Nothing has changed in that regard. We paid it as he looked like a hungry player on the up.
Inter bought an unfit, unprofessional overweight player who failed at a decent side, and who showed he doesn’t have the mentality to be a top class forward.
I will admit there is a commonality in that we both bought a striker who has an appalling first touch and can’t score against a decent defence.
So he was also one of the reasons why they overachieved and finished 2nd the season before then. Good. One of the main reasons the team failed was because we had an out of shape lump up front who could barely move.
fecking hell the way you go on about finishing 2nd, it's like it's some incredible achievement. So he was also one of the reasons why they overachieved and finished 2nd the season before then. Good.
Well the team wasn’t that good. If you are in denial about that, then ok.fecking hell the way you go on about finishing 2nd, it's like it's some incredible achievement.
We were 2nd, miles behind the Champions, played crap football for most of the season and won nothing. That's not something to boast about.
You were the guy arguing Lukaku wasn't overweight or unfit all last season before Lukaku himself came out and admitted it so you'd know all about denial.Well the team wasn’t that good. If you are in denial about that, then ok.
Well, technically they haven't and if he turns out as shit as people here pretend he is they likely won'tI still find it hard to believe Inter paid £75 million quid for this guy.
Are we sure his transfer to Inter is genuine and not some elaborate hoax?
That if we assume bonuses are on individual performance rather than team performance and number of appearance. Di Marzio said "easily achievable bonuses" when he reported the story.Well, technically they haven't and if he turns out as shit as people here pretend he is they likely won't
The Lukaku deal was an overwhelming failure on all parts. It didn’t work out.Was he a failure when we finished 2nd?
The guy is a Mourinho fanboy, he will never agree that Mourinho's signings were shite, so he would defend Lukaku and Mourinho's second place finish with us to death. The Lukaku deal was an overwhelming failure on all parts. It didn’t work out.
What on earth are you even trying to argue here? There isn’t an argument that undermines the above.
Hopefully for him, it's something related to his weight, this way he wins on both fronts. That if we assume bonuses are on individual performance rather than team performance and number of appearance. Di Marzio said "easily achievable bonuses" when he reported the story.
At least that explains his ignorance. The guy is a Mourinho fanboy, he will never agree that Mourinho's signings were shite, so he would defend Lukaku and Mourinho's second place finish with us to death.
Was one of the first people to call out Mkhi and Bailly but nice try . The people who are sensitive about that season are the people who convinced themselves that the manager did not get enough out of those players, and they were soo wrong they cannot stand it.The guy is a Mourinho fanboy, he will never agree that Mourinho's signings were shite, so he would defend Lukaku and Mourinho's second place finish with us to death.
To be honest, I never really said he was. Pogba is a bit different as he has offered more but there’s people out there who will call him a failure and I’d disagree as well.He was hardly a success either
This must be so hard on you. First Mourinho then Lukaku. He was not a failure when we finished 2nd.
If Pogba left this summer I wouldn’t call him a failure. I wouldn’t necessarily call the move back here a success either but a lot that has gone on is not his fault. This must be so hard on you. First Mourinho then Lukaku.
This isn't a complete disaster of a signing like Sanchez of course. But when your 70 plus million pound striker leaves after 2-3 years, it's a failure regardless.
If Pogba left due to being unwanted/considered backup then he'd be a failure. If Pogba left this summer I wouldn’t call him a failure. I wouldn’t necessarily call the move back here a success either but a lot that has gone on is not his fault.
It’s not hard on me at all, I’m buzzing for the Wolves game. People on here are more worked up about Lukaku leaving than I am, that’s what’s apparent to me now.
Well it depends on the manager though doesn’t it. If Conte comes in after Jose he keeps Lukaku so I don’t get your point. If Pogba left due to being unwanted/considered backup then he'd be a failure.
Wouldnt say losing weight is an easy achievable target for him. Guy has been munching on those nuggets non stopHopefully for him, it's something related to his weight, this way he wins on both fronts.
Yeah but he was bulking up to get even stronger.Wouldnt say losing weight is an easy achievable target for him. Guy has been munching on those nuggets non stop
Or as a guide on how to safely consume mushroomsYears ago I did (it was called Championship Manager then!).
Probably best not to use video games as sources of information in real life. I'm a big Super Mario fan but wouldn't use it as a reference on plumbing.
He scored like 16 goals in the league that season? We finished second because the chasing pack was so shite. Any 80m striker that scores 16 goals is a failure. He was not a failure when we finished 2nd.
Does he not for example contribute heavily in us beating Liverpool at OT despite not having a goal or assist to show for it? He was important in that team but will not get much credit. It is what it is though, I’m done with this.He scored like 16 goals in the league that season? We finished second because the chasing pack was so shite. 2 out of 2, to bad Matic never went strong in public defending JM.This must be so hard on you. First Mourinho then Lukaku.
This isn't a complete disaster of a signing like Sanchez of course. But when your 70 plus million pound striker leaves after 2-3 years, it's a failure regardless.
His negatives outweigh(insert a joke here) his positives. His contribution, apart from goals and assists didn't warrant 80m fee.Does he not for example contribute heavily in us beating Liverpool at OT despite not having a goal or assist to show for it? Well we got a high fee for him and were also offered Dybala in exchange, so there are two teams who think he warrants valuations in that region. We can talk about negatives and positives all day.His negatives outweigh(insert a joke here) his positives. His contribution, apart from goals and assists didn't warrant 80m fee.
So true. The biggest mystery is how 5ft, 60kgs Paul Dickov could bully defenders better than a 6ft 100kgs man?
This is the worst part about Lukaku. His hold up play wasn't up to standard. So much so that if we'd bought Arnautovic, we'd have been better off.The biggest mystery is how 5ft, 60kgs Paul Dickov could bully defenders better than a 6ft 100kgs man?
What does your age have to do with anything? I didn't see you offering the support that you give Lukaku for young players like Martial who had zero support from Mourinho whatsoever.Well it depends on the manager though doesn’t it. If Conte comes in after Jose he keeps Lukaku so I don’t get your point.
I think I am one of the youngest regular posters on this forum. Seeing men in their 40s cry about Lukaku and Jose even after they after they are gone is hilarious. Then of course they attack me for being a ‘fanboy’ regardless of the fact that these two people are still in their heads.
