Hehe.

I'm going against the current right now. I think Rooney isn't particularly finished yet. He may not be a 30-goal (or even a 20-goal) a season striker anymore.

But I think he still has the vision but his body can't cope with it..

What he needs right now is a personal coach. Not just on the physical, but more on the mental side.

Athletes like Agassi and Serena Williams made comebacks after having their own personal coaches. It may cost a fortune but Rooney's got the money to burn, plus he doesn't waste his money on gambling and brothels anymore.

Now how do we get this message to Rooney.

Hmmm...

I am sorry but the hehe to open this thread just makes me think of a fat child with Wayne Rooney's face, laughing in glee as he unwraps another chocolate bar and stuffs it down his maw.

He's shit. He's finished. Get over it.

SAF saw it 4 years ago, and you lot are still blind.

Thanks Moyes for the huge contract.

...You seriously saying we need Tony Fecking Robbins to get Rooney to walk over hot coals?

Feck.

Moyes truly set us back a few years. I'm sure he was some sort of double agent.

Rooney needs bionic legs, we can rebuild him...like the six million dollar man.

How can someone who fancies himself in a physical sport like boxing away from football be so weak, pushed off the ball, lack of upper body strength etc.
He's only just turned 30, yet feels like he's aged about 10 years in the last 18months.

Does Rooney have the vision? When did he last play a killer through ball? I don't think he's ever been creative enough to play as a 10 or deeper. There is nothing unpredictable about his game and he lacks awareness of what's around him. He was a player that relied on his power and to some extent his pace.

I want him dropped, but i'm also of the opinion that he isn't finished yet, and whether his problem is physical or psychological, i think it'd be wise for him to get all the help he could. He isn't planning to retire anytime soon, so he shouldn't allow the decline to finish him at this age.

Think he needs to hire Roger Federer. If he had half the discipline of Federer he wouldn't be moving like a 40 year old now.

Rooney doesn't need a personal coach.

He needs a new club.

The first step is to admit there is an issue... So far everyone has been acting like he is the player he was years ago.

As much as I'm open to the idea that Rooney still has more to offer, the amount of leeway he gets - with certain things being blamed on his poor form - amazes me.

Thus far, I've seen:

He's not getting service.
Other forward players are playing poorly.
It's just poor form.
It's due to our playing style.
People are just too negative, he's not actually been that bad.
He needs a personal coach,

With most players, their poor form is attributed to them just being...well, a bit shit when they're playing poorly. It seems like we have a multitude of excuses for Rooney's lack of form, though.

Agreed. LVG and the club need to get their act together and sort it out. It's their responsibility.

Someone posted a thread in the Newbs recently, suggesting that anti-baldness medication was responsible for Wayne's poor form.
