2nd time I’ve watched this guy play, very impressed. Inventive and hardworking. Got a big future

Reminds me of Angel Gomes a bit in style

His technique isn't as tight as Gomes and he's a wide player only I think. England have played him a lot at left back but he's much better in the LW/ILF position in my opinion.

Most importantly for him is that he's shown a temperament for senior football in his short career so far, he was excellent in Arsenal's win over Frankfurt a couple of weeks back too. He's probably overtaken Nelson at Arsenal already.

I was about to ask how long before Arsenal convert him to a LWB

I think England do it to shoehorn talented players into the team. He's nowhere near as good there. I watched him play for England 18s at left back last international break in a very junior football kind of setting. Slightly surprising to see him playing so well in big away games in senior football a few weeks later.

Looks a decent player but I prefer the water Saka instead ;)

I was at the game and wasnt overly impressed. He outshone Pepe for sure but most of the time he was just backing into his marker. Might have to watch it back.

Arsenal has him and Guendouzzi who wil go very far imo. Some youngsters are just made for senior football. Nelson was the one with all the hype and great youth career. This guy has come in and straight away took to this level. Even in pre season he looked far more effective. He is very mature and simple in his play with very good crossing. But as someone else said its his temperament thats impressive

If nothing else he'll be remembered as the man who retired Ashley Young because ya know he shouldn't be allowed to play again after that 1st half roasting he got

Wasn't impressed. Thought Ashley Young made him look much better than he currently is.

Played very well. His hold up play even when surrounded by 2-3 of our players was top notch. He has a bright future ahead.

Yep, he's a much better footballer than Caf darling Dan James.
Christ, even in a thread nothing to do with one of our players there's always one who has to put one of our lot down.

Yeah stupid, both completely different types of player so it’s pointless. I don’t understand why people can’t praise a player without putting someone else down

It's not too difficult to get past Ashley Young, but he got some movement about him.

Definitely more impressive than Pepe.

Looks like a better player than Pepe at the moment. Early days though.

He's good isn't he? Looks to be good with both the feet. Scored and assisted yesterday.

He is good for his age. Wasn't that inpressive for 70 odd mins as I thought he was playing like a wing back but after the first goal he looked confident. Whenever i have seen him play this season the lad looks good. Whether he can be a special player, only time will tell.

His technique seems to be good. Agree need more time to assess

He bossed it in the Europa League and made whoscored's team of the group stages

Shows how weak the competition is at this point though, he's found it much harder in the PL as have Arsenal. I'd say the EL group stages is about Championship level. Still a good showing from him, he must be one of the youngest players getting decent game time in the PL this year.

Much as that's a lovely goal, it's also some shocking defending.

Sign him up, out of contract in less than 18 months time

Very good. Interesting to see which position he's going to end up in the long run

This is really interesting.

This type of thought process seems quite widespread in football now; a traditional winger won’t cut it, they have to now make it as a menacing fullback. Alphonso Davies is having similar successes at Bayern doing the same...

I've been impressed everytime I've seen him whether he's been in defence or attack.

It’s been like this for a long time, nearly every full back is originally a DM or a Cb or winger, Ashley Cole for example started as a striker in Crystal Palace youth teams.

He’s brilliant. Always makes the right decision. Could be a world class LB/WB in the making.

Saka and Wan bissaka on opposite flanks
Saka could be good RW for us

The fact he didnt start today and Arteta saying they dont have fullbacks. I dont think Arteta sees him as a fullback
