I do see some really good abilites: Quick and strong physical. But he is far from finish yet. If we compare him to his countryman in Nico Williams. Right foot wingers and wide players.

Far from finish = Everything look lesser easily = Lesser effortless.

Top and close to finish players make things look really effortless. Natural and really instinct. But its many many ours with practise behind it. If you want to make things look effortlessly on the pitch.
Like can you lead the ball on top speed without looking at the ball? Full control in top speed without looking at the ball?

But back to Diao. He is a young player. So he has time on his age. It is not fair to compare to Nico Williams who are some age older. And Williams who i didn't know before this summer. So i didn't know how good Williams was at Diao age.
But the level Diao has to reach. The bar. Is that top level of wide players in football world right now.

And with Diao i has to see more. Before i write a scouting report.

I just write scouting report on talents i think and believe has what it takes to become a really good player in the future. Others talents like Diao i need more scouting time;)

I don't know. I just get to know Wassim Keddari. Watching him for first time. During Euro u19.
He and Spain won the final. And he play whole 90 minutes. And what the future brings. No one never know.

But young upcoming players are like new fresh car. As more as you drive and use. Over years. Naturally. You will get problems and troubles here and there.
Same with football players. And some are more lucky than others.

So i conclude. New and young players are lesser injury prone than like 23-24 years old players. Then over 30 years of age. Soon out of age or ready to dump or whatever you will call;)

Late bloomer. Stopped playing football for several years in his youth, and hanged around in different environments than sporting ones, let's put it that way. Has responded well to being part of proffesional set-ups though since he has made a name for himself in no time since being picked up by a proffesional club two years ago

His left is not as good and precise as Tadic from Ajax yet. But i can see it. His left foot is precise and similar to Tadic. I rate this boy as a champion league level for the top 5 league in Europe. And i believe he is good enough to play for a top 4/5 in Premier league too. In his best role and position of course. As a box LCM/8 position.

About 3 years earlier i wrote a scouting report about him. And it do surprised me that no of club that are chasing for champion league spot in the top 5 league has went for him. Club West Ham and Aston Villa.


I will show his stats that are showing how consistent he has been. And compare to another player to show that he has the Champion league level, not Europa league level....Adrien Rabiot who is playing for Marseille and who is a champion league level player too. A level Rabiot will play next season for Marseille.

I have them on the book for a year now. But i do not watch them really often. Due one from South America and Fenerbache.

If i do not remember wrong. I think Juan Gimenez was playing on the same team with a really highly rated Argentina Left winger/attacking player...Who Manchester City has bought? I don't remember his name while writing this.

Echeverri was a really good dribler and a good finisher. High energy player.

This player caught me first time when he was playing for Feyernord. And he has been really consistent after that. Definitely a creative cm player who is good enough to play champion league football every year. Now let us take a closer look of him.

So that above showing us he has equald Goals and assists. In a consistent period over 4 seasons. It didn't only show the result. But his consistent hunger mentality for goals and assist. Not only by scoring, but serving his teammates too. Definitelty a team player, beside the ability to score goals.



Rating and comparison to others creative cm player :

Compare to the level of football history. I have seen better creative cm player. But to be honest. I don't see and don't know how many cm player out there who has those high numbers of goals and assists. On a consistent high level.
Because as a football player. Those numbers shall belong to nr.10/free AMC playmaker and wingers. So i am really impressive.

So compare to the football level right now. Doing what he is doing. He belong to the top out there. When it coming to helping your team to score goals and create chances. But again. Football history of cm had higher level of cm player.

I will end up rating him as "very good cm player/creative category ". Not top and world class level. But the level under that.


Example of comparison to another creative cm player. In Pedri for Barcelona. Who i rate as top level cm creative player :

+ Pedri, Barcelona stats :

Season 20/21, league only : 2432 minutes 3 goals 3 assist
Season 21/22 : 889 minutes 3 goals 1 assist
Season 22/23 : 1982 minutes 6 goals 1 assist
Season 23/24 : 1501 minutes 4 goals 2 assist
Season 24/25 : 2897 minutes 4 goals 5 assist


So we can see. Even Pedri do consider as one of the best creative cm player. It is really hard to high number of assist like Kokcu was having. Average 5-7 assists each season. Even in league many consider is lower than the Spanish league. But again. Not as a cm player. Only Kevin De Bruyne playing as a RCM/8 box to box cm player has those numbers of assists. But De Bruyne use to drift out as the wide right side to deliver to cross in. And with top team mates in City. Like Haaland, Aguero. It did help Kevin De Bruyne high and top numbers of assists. The king of assists.



Orkun Kokcu's best position :

He is playing as the creative cm player. The 8. Florentino as the defensive cm player nr.6. Like this:

But with his dictating and ball playing cm player. And he use to build up the attack of the team. I think and believe he can and has abilities to play as CDM/nr 6 too. Like this:

De Bruyne/RCM - Kokcu/CDM - Iniesta/LCM.

Sit and hold back to control the game. Dictate the game and spread the short and long passes around. Set the tempo of the ball and game.



Sum up and mine recommendation :

I will recommend Orkun Kokcu to teams who are chasing champion league football or those team that want a creative consistent cm player. Who has goals and asisst in his game and locker. Shall go for Kokcu this summer.

Teams like Aston Villa or Napoli :

Example first with Aston Villa in 433 formation:

Asensio - Onana - Kamara - McGinn - Rogers + Watkins. Kokcu can easily playing Kamara nr.6 position or the more offensive cm position of McGinn, more box to box.
Kokcu football level is on McGinn and Aston Villa level.


Now for Napoli i will recommend the ball playing cm nr.6 or the nr.8 role

Anguissa - Lobotka/Gilmour/Kokcu - McTom/Kokcu


For team who play 442 or 4231 formation, chasing champion league spot. You will need a top DM beside him. Kokcu will be the box to box creative cm player.

In the end conclusion : Is Orkun Kokcu ready and good enough for a top 4-5 in premier league or the top 4 team in the 4-5 biggest league in football?

The answer for me. Clearly a yes from me.

Orkun Kokcu is a International and champion league level player. Example for a champion league ready Newcastle team next season.

433 Like this:

Guimaraes/Tonali - Tonali/Guimares - Kokcu. Kokcu would go in there for Joelinton or Willock.


Again. The boy has consistent mentality. His football stats just show it. His hunger for goals and asissts. And how attacking minded he is. It will lead him to the team that need and want his abilities. It will lead to a team it suit his abilties. Both vice versa.

Orkun Kokcu is really good and consistent creative, offensive cm player. Special when it comes to goals and assists. My best recommendation;)
 
I wanted him when we went for Mount instead. I guess that was a huge mistake as I think Kokcu would have suited Ten Hag ball as the no 8.
