That’s really bad luck. Nesta was my first choice CB as he will complement who I’ve got in mind to partner him. I wanted Zanetti anyway but after Cafu and Thuram were picked I knew if I didn’t pick him now all the top RB/RWBs would be gone by my next turn.

Well, for starters, I hate you.

Now the child has spoken... it makes it very hard to contemplate 5 at the back for those without the benefit of double (or almost immediate) picks. That was brutal.

You'd probably need to sort out the defence first.

Thought it was odd that people are concerned about top class defenders as there are loads out there during that time. Some outstanding of course but the pool is pretty deep.

I guess you lot changed the rules as the draft went on and didn't update the OP

edit: no, there were 2 different 90's Serie A drafts in the newbies!

Rui Costa too?! If only his opponent had mastered the "Too Many Cooks" argument which to be fair is true in this case. It's really Zidane or Rui Costa in that setup.

No doubt, though when everyone has shiny attackers... would be suicidal if I went with second rate attackers, then watch guys above add Tier 1 defenders too.

It was me in the final. I probably did try that arguement, can't remember though as it was 7 years ago.

Really good draft though, think I built my side around Rijkaard.

It is yeah. Rui Costa behind Del Piero and MvB would be a dream final trio. Not sure what Zidane was there for but if it was 6-7 years ago most sides were overloaded up top.

I guess you could probably try a 4-3-3 with Desailly or Rijkaard doing all the heavy lifting behind Zidane and Rui Costa, but you aren't really getting the sum of parts.
