A defeat in such a high-profile game will make things difficult. Sat night, big audience (is it same time as the rugby??). This could go either way. A statement victory with Mount, Rashford coming alive would be what we really need... but dropped points, or defeat. That would be pretty, pretty definitive for ETH.

Anyway, come on lads. Surprise us all, and click into gear... please? :)
City game is on sunday next week :wenger:

Away game. Almost a certainty that it will be a struggle for us.

    My team for today

    ...................................Onana (sigh)..................................................

    Dalot..............Varane...................Maguire.....................Reguilon....

    .....................Amrabat..................Mount...........................................

    ....................................Eriksen..........................................................

    ...Rashford.................Höjlund.........................Garnacho.................

    Bruno for Eriksen at 60-70
    Mejri for Mount at 60-70
    Anthony for Garnacho at 60-70
    Martial for Höjlund 70-80

The ETH midfield three will probably be Amrabat/Mount/Bruno though, with Anthony/Höjlund/Rashford up front. Maybe Eriksen instead of Mount in the pivot.

Based on what ten Hag said:

    Onana
    Dalot Varane Maguire Reguilon
    McTominay Amrabat
    Bruno Mount Rashford
    Hojlund

    Garnacho, Martial, Antony, Eriksen

    Oh, a game, how exciting...

Even we should be able to beat these. They are awful. No more room for excuses.

Que "if Sheffield United played like this every week they wouldn't be where they are" from the commentary.

Please use sense and play this.

    -------------------Onana--------------
    Dalot----Varane---Maguire--Reguilon
    ----‐--------------Amrabat----------------
    Anthony---Bruno---Mctom--Garnacho
    ---------------------Hojlund-------------

Rashford has been poor for Utd. Bring him.off the bench and ask him to prove a point.

Come on, of course, I didn't say anything like that. I want SMT to go out and play with a mindset to make a difference, get in the box and look to score. I am not suggesting we play route-one-last-minute-desperation-football, not at all. But SMT should be feeling confident now. Go out there, read the game, make some tackles, drive us on, be responsible, don't go missing, win possession, keep it simple, break their game up, and go score some goals.

That should be all SMT does, or seeks to do. He's v effective when he does this. SMT needs to become that personaility, maybe take a look at Bellingham and go out and define a game.
    Who is SMT? McTominay? Thanks

I would like to see Amrabat, Mount and Bruno in midfield. I think this is our most skillful and mobile midfield and we need to give it a try to see if they can work together.

I would also start Antony and Rashford, but yank either one at halftime if they are not performing.

Glad to see Reguillon is back.

We need more firepower in our team.

    Onana
    Dalot - Varane - Lindelof - Reguilon
    Rashford - Amrabat - Eriksen - Martial
    Bruno
    Hojlund

Be compact when out of posession and break quickly. Our strength does not lie in breaking down a set defence, or defending high up the pitch. So we need to be a bit more clever than we've shown in recent weeks.

Unless Antony has been tearing it up in training, I think we'd probably benefit more from an increased goal threat. Even if it means playing someone out of position.

If we don't beat Sheffield, I think it's curtains for Ten Hag.
He must surely be on thin ice despite his biggest fans saying otherwise. Although I’m sure more excuses will be made if we lose today. However I do think if we balls up the CL and go out at group stage he will be close then and deservedly so.

If the players can’t motivate themselves now after what has just been announced by the club regarding Sir Bobby Charlton’s death then they aren’t fit to wear the shirt.

ETH is going to be under a lot of pressure off we lose today.

A comfortable 3-0 win would do the teams confidence the world of good.

Really interested to see how Amrabat can perform in his true position with a real LB behind him. Need to see out the first 10 minutes of what will be a loud atmosphere and our boys may be flat (given the sad news today) however we really should be better than them man for man.
