Our greatest ever player, and Englands really and along with Busby and Fergie he would be the most important figure in the clubs' history.

Football legend worldwide. RIP.

Biggest legend in the history of our club. Both as a player and a man. Probably the best English player of all time.

Takes someone pretty special to be our greatest ever player - he represented everything that's good about us. Pure football romance. And the tragedy he went through to get there makes his one of the most poignant stories in English football.

RIP Sir Bobby

The word "legend" doesn't do him justice. One of the greatest, on and off the pitch.

RIP

If I recall, he had been diagnosed with dementia which is why we hadn’t seen him sitting in his seat in his SBC stand for a couple of years. I’ve seen first hand what an absolute awful disease it is & can’t imagine how difficult it has been for his family over the last few years.

He is no longer in pain and is in peace now <3

His playing career gets strangely overlooked when discussing the greats. How many players won the World Cup, European cup and Balon dor?

A very very sad day for football, even his rivals respected what he did in the game of football. RIP Sir Bobby.

The all time great, epitomised everything good about United.

He will forever be one of the most important club legends of all time, alongside SAF and Busby.

RIP.

The word legend gets thrown around a lot but Charlton is the real definition of that word. RIP

A good man and a great player. He never wasted an ounce of his talent and gave everything for the shirt, while remaining quiet and humble. A superstar before the word was invented.
