Well nobody expected us to sign 7 players.
he said 1 or 2 after the barca game, and he's made it clear in that press conference that its a very slow and gradual change.
These aren't vague statements, he obviously sees a rebuild as a slow process. Thats fine, however i think that's all the confirmation we need as fans to see some leaving, but not much coming in straight away.
Only one or two signings would be a disgrace though. I'd be happy with four.
Jose went on record last summer saying he gave Woody a list of 6 players. We ended up with Fred and Grant!Buying four players is hardly "doing a City or a Real". I have zero faith in the strategy behind the scenes, but I'll be hoping for the best obviously!
Clearly that's what he felt we needed so I don't think 4 is unrealistic given our squad situation and his 1 or 2 statement is a safe and conservative number. He knows it's more than that but we may not get 4. It so depends on 3 factors: The appointment or not of a DOF, The funds available and the the players available.
The last is the important one. Lots of coveted players but only a handful of clubs they'd sign for.
